3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from De Bierkoning.
It’s a very nice coffee stout, but a bit disappointing considering the brewer. I’m used to such profound richness with De Molen’s dark beers, and this particular one just isn’t quite there. Appearance is great with a dark tan head that lasts for hours. Aroma doesn’t have much potency or distinction for me at this time. Flavor is quite complex, mostly dominated by coffee. The malts don’t melt and coat your mouth like other De Molen stouts. Still a very nice beer.

In short: sherry like coffe ale.
Pours dark copper with very little tan head. Short head retention, almost no lacing. Coffee, cacao, sherry aromas. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is coffee, roasty, sherry, cacao. Alcohol noticed, also some oxidazed character, leading to sherry like flavours. Enjoyable.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Super piwo. W smaku gorzka czekolada super odczucie w ustach.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Big stained coffee nose, cool and clinical. Bullish coffee nose, earnest and awakening. Oily but so, so vibrant. What’s frustrating is the quality of the coffee that went into this must have been incredible. It’s faded in terms of roast or malt sweetness, I assume. Pure stainful flat grapefruit bitterness but it’s soft and constant. Plucky thiness, fading grain and dark berry finish.
