From keg at Ealing BF 2009. Black no head. Extreme coffee aroma. One of the smoothest things I’ve had. Pure choc and espresso. Stunning finish of freshly gorund coffee. Sublime. One of the best coffee impy stouts I’ve had. It’s good, really good, so drinkable and adorable.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Joen (36) - Zeist, NETHERLANDS - JUL 20, 2009
Caught it at the brewery De Molen in Bodegraven, the Netherlands. A coffee dark beer with a nice beige head. High CO2 pressure, according to the type of beer. Aroma, like a smooth espresso or cafe as the romans say. A hint of liquorice and higher alcohols.
The flavour confirms the aroma, and the caramel flavour is added. I expected the hop bitters but this beer ends, where this review started, with coffee.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Ethereal (2399) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUL 2, 2009
On tap at Café België in Utrecht, 12th June 09. Pitch black with a tan head. Superb coffee aroma, likewise a great refined coffee taste. No harshness, just very expensive tasting coffee. The palate is ultra smooth and just right for savouring every mouthful. Sweet yet bitter, this is a delight.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours a dark black with a very nice tan head. Aroma of dark roast, rich coffee, mocha, very nice. Flavor is exactly the same as the aroma and is very rich. Mouth feelm is heavy body, some what silky, low carbonation. Overall, this was a very tasty stout. I very much enjoyed. Good stuff!

Bottle from De Molen. Almost black color with almost no beige head. Aroma definitely coffee. Taste, mainly coffee, light hints of malt, caramel, maybe dark chocolate. Nice long dry, coffee bitter finish. Excellent, well rounded stout.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Ughsmash (5830) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 25, 2011
750mL bottle, bottled 10/16/09, #105 of 236. Poured clear cola brown with a dense, sticky, kinda fizzy yellowy-beige head. The aroma picked up rich, earthy coffee, dark chocolate, with woody and a hint of cherry accents.. some green coffee bean sourness was also evident.. surprisingly soft, and quite decadent. The flavor opened with tart coffee and oaky notes, with more rich, roasted coffee behind.. again earthy and woody.. moderate overall roast.. finished with dry-roasted coffee and oak.. very well balanced. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated on the palate.. sweetness, dry roast, and moderate warmth worked very well together.. loved it!

Black colored brew, brown head. Nice. Coffee in the aroma, huge and rich. Flavor is full of coffee too, rich, very rich. Overall very nice.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2010 Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010 re-rate. Black with a lasting, firm and foamy tan head. Big coffee aroma with chocolate and roast malt. Great roasted flavour with lots of coffee. I have rarely had a beer with so much coffee aroma and flavour that I actually liked.
