Look what I’ve found in the back of the closet! Bottled 2 years ago to this day. 33 cl bottle @ home. Deep dark, almost black color. Beige head with short retention. Aroma’s: chocolate, alcohol, oak, vanilla, light (red) fruit. Retronasal there’s a bit more fruit, hard roasted malts, charcoal. Oh darn, the flavor is somewhat sour, must be one of those infected brews from 2012, or is it my bottle? Moderate sour, really not how it’s supposed to be. Alcohol warming. Medium bodied. Sourness stays in the finish. Too bad.

330 ml bottle at home. 2012 vintage. Pours deep brown with black hue, small dark beige hean, low carbonation. Nose of green paprica, freshly roasted and grinded coffee beans, bittersweet chocolate. Medium body, nice subtle roastiness and slight sweetness. Taste of caramel, chocolate and caramel, slight alcohol burn at the end. Very nice beer, but the bourbon took out the strength of the original beer a bit. But still great beer.

Bottle at home, from De Molen shop, 08/10/13. Pours light black with a thin tan covering. Nose carries an indulgent roast coffee blast, chocolate, light spice, dark toffee fudge cake, light bourbon streak, more coffee - lovely ! Taste comprises roast coffee beans, coffee cake, dark chocolate, light mineral notes, subtle bourbon tones, brown sugars, tirimasu. Full bodied, flat to moderate carbonation, sweet coffe and light bourbon notes in the finish. Everything I could have asked for in a coffee impy with bourbon - top draw ! Good balance, booze well disguised, sweet but not overly so.

Poured deep, dark brown with a disappearing beige head. Aroma of sweet chocolate, roast malt, coffee and berries. Full body, flavour as the aroma, the barrel aging is almost vinous,

Bottle. Aroma strong chocolate, intense sweet fruits, bourboney. Almost black colour. Taste is dark chocolate, light fruits, somewhat smoked. Light sourness. Definitely good, thought not nearly the best I had from De Molen.
