COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A beast of a imperial stout! Nacht & Ontij matured almost a year on Cognac barrels. The beer has eased down a lot. A divine brew.

Bottle, thanks to Jeffo, 11/26/2012. Pours black, fine light mocha head fades to surface haze, thin ring of viscous lacing. Aroma of doughy dark chocolate, with lovely, fruity cognac, orange noticeable, vanilla coffee, oak, a bit smoky. One of the nicest cognac expressions I’ve encountered from a barrel aged beer. Taste is sweet, cognac notes over dark chocolate, wood and heavy dark roast, bitter finish to balance, some heat, boozy cognac aftertaste. Medium palate, perhaps even a bit thin to support the flavors fully. Not without flaws, but really nice nonetheless. Me gusta.

Black, hardly any head. Very strong and alcoholic imperial stout. some roasted malts and coffee in its taste, but alcohol is most present. Oily texture, low carbo.

Tap @ borefts beer festival 2012. Seems to have been one of the later ones, therefore the short rating: Black with a dark brown head. Thick and majestic. Chocolate, licorice and cognac. Pretty prominent alcohol.

bouteille 33cl, bottled 05-09-2012.

taken from notes - tap @ Borefts 2012 - massive round and sweet stout, some metally notes, but lots of sweet alcohol and woody notes, next to the dark chocolate. Nice.

A hazy dark brown to black pour. Aroma is malty, cognac, chocolate, wood, some dark fruit and liqourice. Taste is almost the same...a bit sweet and heavy on the cognac. Overall a nice IRS.

Bottle from De Molen online shop. Dark black with thin tan head. Nose is sweet, sugary, coffee, molasses and inviting cognac. Taste is vanilla, coffee, licorice, roasty malts. Just really good. Thick syrupy texture. Just really nice.
