Black colour, firm tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, citrus and pronounced hop tones. Bitter chocolate flavour, bitter hops, coffee. Finish roasted malts and bitter hops.
Nice balance in the stout and hops profile. Really nice!

A black colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of some sweets with coffee, dark malts with notes of caramel. The taste of bitter roasted malt, chocolate note with coffee. The aftertaste is bitter of roasted malts.

On tap at De Molen pouring up nice and dark mahogany with tall tight light mocha head containing larger bubbles here and there. The foam leaves behind clumpy lacing along the inside of the glass. The aroma is full of baker’s chocolate, chocolate milk powder, malt balls, some dark roasted malts, dark roasted coffee and spicy black licorice. Smells dandy and for such a big beer I’m getting almost not booziness. The taste has bold rich dark roasted coffee and dark roasted malt notes rolling into yummy rich chocolate and some burnt malts. It has a thin body that is noticed just as a mild level of booziness comes to the surface about midway. Behind those notes I get spicy black licorice as well as an almost tart citrus lemon like hoppiness. Darn nice bold flavor with hardly any notice of the huge ABV.

Dark brown, big bubbly grey beige head. Fresh fruit, roasted malts, butterscotch and licorice. Fairly easily drinkable for a stout like this. Body not too oily, a light tintling carbonation. Full bodied. Not the best of De Molen but very good still and with its own character. (On tap at De Molen tasting)

On tap @ De Molen. The aroma has chocolate, roast, spice. Black coloured beer with a beige, lasting head. The taste has some sweetness, is moderate bitter, has chocolate, some caramel, hint of dark fruits, winter spicyness. Full bodied. Nice one.

Bottle: thanks Rudy! No gusher but the foam came slowly crawling out of the bottle. A medium to bigger vast brown head, changes slowly into a vast closed brown lacing, on top of a deep black colored beer. Smell gass, roasted malts, some hints of thicker liquorice, hint of hops Taste is a nicely balanced mix of lots of roasted ingredients with a light hoppy touch and a growing bitterness towards the end. Roasted malts, roasted barleys, hops, liquorice citrus and yeast. Good bitter with lots of roasted grains. Nice and pretty crisp! Good bitter and good roasted ingredients with a hint of anise in the aftertaste. Medium carbo, growing/exploding creamy mouthfeel, full body and a creamy thicker light sticky texture. Excentric beer.

Bottle & Draft @ Eet & Bierlokaal De Molen. Aroma is huge roast and massive hops. Flavour is intense roasty bitterness, followed by hop bitterness, fading to malty sweet roastyness. Lingering for ever. Very intense. Great stuff.
