Sometimes things go wrong at a brewery. While brewing our Donder & Bliksem a mistake was made and we added a lot of malts that weren’t suppose to go in this brew. This is how our Bohemian Lager turned into a Schwarzbier. As you see, we turn our Difficulties into a Virtue.

A colablack beer with a medium and beige head. Aroma is ryebready and sour, roastiness, some sweetness and herbs. Taste is (rye)bready, lots of roastiness, still enough of sweetness, also dry, herbal bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium bodied, nice carbonation. Basic, bready and herbal schwartzbier without weaknesess.

Dark brown, black with medium head. The aroma is somewhat malty, with bread, some chocolate. Taste is at first somewhat malty. When warming up, the roastedness and chocolate flavours do come out.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear brown with a reddish hue and a small off-white head. Sweet roasted malt in the nose with a metallic edge. Medium body, lightly chocolatey roast, again a little metal and a dry malt bitterness. Sort of a bordeline beer between a Schwarzbier and a Baltic Porter. 310112

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2012 Roasted malts, slightly metallic. Good bittering, slightly sweetened. The pale-taste still some kind... Combined with a bit of coffee chocolate, not bad for a mistake, but not great neither. Dark brown, looks like black at the glass, a bit of a small head. Getting better when warming up. More sweet-roasted, slightly spiced. Also at re-taste, with a bit of aging, not one of my favorites.

From a 33 cl bottle at home in Skövde. Dark amber with a big beige head. Chocolate, malt and a bit metallic aroma and flavour. A bit bitter finish. Not DeMolens best beer...
