If this was only a little sweeter it wouldn’t be too great. Sticky, syruppy, figgy. Sweetness lingers but after a while there’s a good bitterness. Bottle from De Roemer in Groningen.

Heavy aroma of fruits. Fruity but for very bitter taste. Heavy bitterness that fills the mouth a long time. Really not a beer for me. Although I usually love Double IPA. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Bottle. Pours mostly clear amber with a creamy off white head. Loads of sweet exotic fruity hops and malt in the aroma. Peach and passion fruit. Sweet malty flavor with a great kick of exotic fruit and sweet berries. Very nice.

On tap at Saint-Bock. Pours hazy dark amber with low off-white head. Some lacing. Aroma is of alcohol, caramel, fruits. Taste is of alcohol, brown sugar, citrus, tropical fruits, strong bitterness, caramel. Palate: Full bodied. Soft carbonation. Overall: Good, reminiscent of an american barley wine. Boozy.

Shared bottle during RBHD Mosterøl gathering. ABV is 8%. Clear orange golden body with a light brown film. Tropical fruits, perfume, pine, booze and marmelade on the nose. Sweet, fruity, salty flavors with a long bitter finish. Full bodied and smooth to drink.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. ABV is 8%, 99 EBU. Amber colour, low off-white head. Nice but fairly moderate aroma of American hops, a faint hint of smoke. The flavour is way too sweet and cloying, even the substantial bitterness can’t save it.

Dark orange. Small beige head. Aroma of cheap booze, liquorice bonbon and bitter citrus. Taste is only slightly better, with citrus and tropical fruits. Still with liqourice bonbon. Rather sweet. Unfresh with low drinkability.

On tap @ Le Saint-Bock. Slightly hazy orange/amber with a small off-white head and little lacing. Aroma is quite sweet with hops, light fruitiness, hints of caramel, alcohol, perfume notes and piney notes. Taste is quite sweet (cloying) with boozy notes, fruits, caramel and low/moderate bitterness. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Oily mouthfeel. Dry finish. Quite boozy for an 8.2% abv beer Cloying. Another of these DIPA that are way too similar with a Barley wine.
