4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 bierkoning (8109) - La Tropica, - JAN 16, 2007
This one tasted january 2007 is the dry-hopped version, Molenbrouwer poured me at the brewery tap. The flavor is totally different from the "normal" Oud Hollands Tuig tasted two years ago. Light citric nose. Earthy hoppy flavor with citrus. Molenbrouwer says this one is dryhopped with Czech Hallertau: EBU 29. He has done a good job. (8 3 8 4 15 = 3.8)
A bottled version of Tuig van de Molen with dry-hopping (gift from Molenbrouwer) was even better! Orange color, hazy. Earthy, oily hoparoma and flavor with strong citric notes. Extremely well balanced. Top class ale
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Fukito (611) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - APR 6, 2007
Bottle at Jbru´s, march 07. Perfumey, green apple, hoppy aroma. Fruity-herbal flavor, with balanced dry ending and a touch of red apples. Medium MF with a dry refreshing end. Shinny clear golden color with some golden hues and a great, lace leaving white head. A nice refreshing belgian ale.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - JAN 20, 2007
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2007 Re-rate: Second bottle. Indeed time did well for this beer. The aggresive hops softened a little and some malts are recognized now. Very nice beer. Jan. 2007, 3.6: Bottled. Very interesting brew. Although I like hops and bitter beers this needs some work to get a little bit less one dimensional. Very strong aroma, very grassy, herbal, hint of citrus. Orange brown, irregular off-whtie head, few lace. Light sweet, rather bitter, very flavorfull but not complex, very grassy, orange, light malty, little dry mouthfeel. I have another bottle. Maybe it needs some time? Thanks Menno.
