I think this is an all around well made beer. It pours pitch black and looks great. The sourness is medium and the roastiness is a nice mild complement. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Beer Revolution’s Edmonton location served in a 12oz tulip glass. Reddish brown in color with a small white head that leaves very little lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild wine grapes with hints of yeast. Taste is a wine grape and lemon tartness with a light malty sweetness and a dry yeasty finish. Light to medium bodied with decent carbonation. Overall, this brew suits the style well and is balanced and tasty.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2014 Tap at Irreale. Black, golden lace. Spicy, berry tartness in the aroma. Dough entry, licorice and green apple notes, light barn, medium body, foamy mouthfeel. If you want to re-create this at home put green apple and liquorice liquor in a sparkling wine. Seems weird, but is certainly quite interesting

Arends Nest. Amsterdam. Keg. Pretty much opaque dark brown beer, good fluffy pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry and a little crisp. That dry woody Flemish red sourness with good red berry and dark fruits. Light finish. Mild sour linger. Very drinkable.

Keg at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 25/09/14. Opaque mahogany brown with a well appointed khaki covering that dissipates and retains. Nose is tarte red cherries, dank wood, bitter red berries, spice, mustometer rising, light fruit balsams. Taste comprises dried fruits, plum skins, tangy red berry, earthy notes, tobacco. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light acidity and tangy dark fruit rinds. Decent enough sour.

Tap @ brewpub, 7,1%. Dutch rating #100. Pours a dark brown, almost black with a wooden tinge. Head is fairly small, mostly a ring of bubbles of beige color. Aroma is sour, balsamic, vinegary. Some berries and cherry. Taste is surprisingly light. Sour, vinegar, light berry. But all around fairly light taste, unfortunately. Full with fairly strong carbonation. Wished for more sour.

Bue à la pression en 25cl, couleur brune, peu de mousse, effervescence moyenne, une bière avec une attaque acide en début de bouche assez prégnante sur le citron, l’orange et le citron vert continuité sur la vanille excellente !
