Pours un unpleasant murky brown. Looks flat. It’s not. The carbo is actually quite present although subtle. Aroma is all oranges and grapefruit, the wife says cut grass. Taste is rich, thick and sweet up front with tangy grapefruit the star. Bitterness is there as well and lingers well beyond the sweetness although the sugar rests on the lips. Full-bodied beer packed with punchy flavours. Shame it looks like mud but I can forgive that. Very good.

Pas incroyable. Un essai sans plus, la couleur brun foncé est bonne et l’apparence est bonne mais trop de sucre résiduel

Bottle from De Molen beershop. Pours hazy amber, bottle has a quite yeasty bottom. Head is not huge but still has a bit of foam. Aroma is warming, toffee, ripened fruits. Hint of hops. Taste is just as the aroma tells - warm, full of soft ripened fruit flavours. Bitterness is also there but it really plays in the background. I am really enjoying this. Full bodied and full flavoured strong ale. I saw from the bottle cap that I only paid 2.85 EUR for this beer, what a bargain.

0,33 bottle purchased in Greece from the Hoppy imp. and consumed in Serbia. Pours an elegant copper/amber color, cloudy and with a fantastic beige head. Nose: dry prunes, tons of different dry fruit, alcohol, yeast, hint of chocolate. Mouth: attack of liquor notes, exaggerated sweetness, molasses. Extra sweet, complex, pronounced alcohol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Intensive fruity aroma of plums mixed with malts and spices. Medium, off-white head disappearing to durable layer with great lacing. Hazy dark brown colour. Thick body with great malty sweetness in taste backed up by well-balanced alcoholic bitterness. Delicious malty liqour with long and a bit alcoholic but pleasant aftertaste.

Hazy dirty golden, soft ringed head. Bright dusty gummy and light spiced malt. Initial taste is fairly keen lemon, varnish and soft toffee. Burnt sugar and boozey towards the finish. Bright sting to the mouthfeel.

Bottle, Independence Tasting, Cheers BenH
