Barrel Aged Sour Ale. The bottled version has another mix of sour beers as the cask version, so is included as a separate beer.

Bottle split at Craft Clerko, acquired from De Molen shop, 22/10/13. Hazed light orange with a thin off white covering. Nose is tarte citric fruit, lemon rind, dank straw notes, barnyard, bitter apricot, light smoke, orange peel. Taste comprises tartened grape skin, dank wood presence, lemon rind, bitter orange, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, musty soured fruit finale. Ok stuff, not particularly complex but a big step up from the keg version!

Bottle share thanks to Mr Bois. Hazed yellow pour with a small white head. Aroma is funk, armpit, light horsey notes. Flavour is light apple, apple skin, mellow tartness. Mellow medium carb and medium body. Light tanin in the finish. This is a completely different beer than on keg. I cannot believe this is marketted as the same beer!

Bottle, big thanks to Colin - what a guy... It pours hazy pale gold with a medium white head. The nose is barnyard, light sulphur, arm-pit, sherbet, coconut, lightly acidic and vanilla. The taste is dough, peach, nectarine, sherbet, tangy, earthy, light vinegar and decent bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Tastes nothing like the draft version, which is a very good thing! Easy drinking. An alright sour.

If you want to smell & taste barnyard, yoghurt, lactic acid & gose beer style this is your beer. Not complex, weird. Oh, I think this is so bad. First thing on the tongue is lactic sour, than on the middle of the tongue there is nothing, on the back there is nothing & aftertaste is nothing. No body at all. Great barnyard smell, bad palate. Pure dissapointment. Do not plot a graphic, with x-axis time & y-axis taste, because everthing on the y axis is zero. Shame on you De Molen. Shame on you. Price €9/quality ratio: clearly below par.
