Pours a dark brown beer with a tan head. Smells coffee, chocolate, alcohol. Tastes the same, also bit vanilla. Low carbo, thick body and a sticky texture.

Thanks bierkoning! Dark brown color, small beige head. Aroma has raisins, burnt malts, not much whisky. Medium to full bodied. Soft palate. Sweetish vanilla, late roastyness, some warming alcohol. Licorice and cocoa. Very pleasant.

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with a lot of sediment and a tiny tan head that leaves no lacing. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, booze, and liquorice. Flavour is much like the aroma – with a slightly bitter and alcoholic finish.

Poured a tar like almost black with minimal tan head. Aroma of vinous roast malt. Full body, flavour of sweet red wine, vanilla smooth, light alcohol burn, more like a Barley wine than an Impy with the barrelling,

330 ml bottle - savoured at home in a sniffer. APPEARANCE: Pours deep brown with a deep amber hue, topped with a small lingering head. Nice long & thick legs. AROMA: Subtle! dark brown sugar, small peat more bourbon than whiskey it seems, honey, vanilla, liquorice, bits of burnt malts and mocca chocolate, PALATE: very soft sweetness, little alcohol burn carries the sweetness, perfect smokiness and hopiness in the finish. Medium dry finish. Complex. FLAVOUR: Milk chocolate, maple & pine honey, slight cigar & leather. OVERALL: pffffeeewwwwww, De Molen did it again baby. Refined, balanced and complex at a time. Great beer!

Bottled. Deep brown colour, small head. Aroma is caramel, whisky, mellow toast and some alcohol sweetness as well. Flavour is very similar in a very nice balance. Quite mellow and nice whisky notes in the flavour.

Lote 2011-09-15.

Dark, small beige head. Aroma of rye, overripe fruit, vanilla and wood. Taste like aroma with some additional roasted malts. Hardly any imperial stout left. Taste us very much barrel aged. Full body, low carbo

Bottle. Pours cloudy deeep brown but not quite black. Almost no head, but a rim of tan head forms late. Aroma is muted whiskey, roasted malts, cocoa. Flavor is lightly sweet, some woody astringence, definite whiskey notes, roasted malt. A bit uncomplex. Finish is quite warming and woody/whiskey. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, utterly flat. Not among the best.
