3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A: Dark brown coloured with some reddish tones and a thin off white lacing. N: Dates, dried figs, raisins, hint of bourbon and vanilla. Some strange oaky/murky/moldy smell to it...? T: Figs, vanilla ice cream, raisins, apricot, peach(?), marzipan. Pretty almond forward... O: Would have wanted some more barrels to it and don’t recognize the Rasputin to it...? Quite nice anyway.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a deep mahogany brown, near-black body with a small bubbly off-white head of little durability. Aroma is caramel, Norwegian brown cheese, alcohol, wood, leather and hints of licorice, vanilla, grains and deep malty notes. Taste is caramel, salty licorice, wood, vanilla, mild bourbon tones, deep malts and hints of alcohol and grains. Full body, medium to soft carbonation. Really massive licorice and caramel tones; for an imperial stout this is almost more in the barley wine territory than what I’d expect from Rasputin. Very nice, but a bit surprising actually.
