Bottle 3way action. Dark brown with teeny weeny off-white head. Big sweet oats, dustiness, wine, blue cheese spiciness, pecan/cashew nutbutter, or like Maakun says: old hazlenuts. Rye bread. Very sweet and strong. Body is full and texture is fat, oily.

Bottle shared thanks to Mark. Slight hazy dark reddish brown with small and short lasting off white head. Musty hazelnuts, red wine, vanilla, light bourbon, fake milk chocolate, light funk, red berries, grass and hay, brown bread. Medium sweet, light sour and some bitter alcohol. Over medium bodied with watery feel and thin alcoholic finish. Messy.

Black with a lovely tan head. Nice lacing on the glass. Red wine, oak, dark malt and toffee in the aroma. Thick nice body and a soft smooth carbonation. Mellow nice sweetness for a beer like this. Dangerously well masked alcohol. Chocolate, mild roast, red wine, dried fruits, oak and toffee in the flavor. Lovely complex and nice evening sipper.

ClubGonzo (5359) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 9, 2015
Bottle. Pours a deep mahogany brown, near-black body with a small bubbly off-white head of little durability. Aroma is caramel, Norwegian brown cheese, alcohol, wood, leather and hints of licorice, vanilla, grains and deep malty notes. Taste is caramel, salty licorice, wood, vanilla, mild bourbon tones, deep malts and hints of alcohol and grains. Full body, medium to soft carbonation. Really massive licorice and caramel tones; for an imperial stout this is almost more in the barley wine territory than what I’d expect from Rasputin. Very nice, but a bit surprising actually.

Bottle from De Hopduvel. Hazy vary dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dried fruit and bourbon. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Sweet and rather bitter finish with warming alcohol. Soft. More barley wine than imperial stout. 050615
