33cl bottle @ home. Opaque, almost black color with a slight red glow coming through when held into the light, no real head, just a small beige to light brown lacing on top. Smell malts, alcohol, medicin and I guess laphroaig barrel aging. Taste malts, not nearly as much peat as I had feared, alcohol, a bit roastyness, clearly barrel aged though, a slight touch of sweetness but a bitter finish. Full body, low carbonation.

33cl, as Rasputin ’Laphroaig BA’, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2012, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex Stout, roasted/malty and slightly smoked/alcoholic, not too heavy, balanced, hazy, nearly no head, very good brew, yet expensive!

Sampled at BBF. Pour was deep brown, almost black. Notes of heavy peat, roast, smoked malts, figs, chocolate, raspberries, and candy sugars. Medium bodied with a small amount of carb. Enjoyable but a little too much roasted almond peat in the taste for me.

Bottle from Bier Koning. Dark black body with thin line of silky white head. Nose is smoky peat, sugar, molasses, dark. Taste is nice full-bodied sweet stout, molasses, smoky, dark fruits. Very nice. Some licorice and Jagermeister in there as well.

Tasted at 4th BBF @ De Molen. Brown pour. Aroma of peat, iodine, roasty, chocolate. Flavor is slightly sweet, slightly sharp, a bit thin, but nicely balanced and a lovely flavor.

Pour very dark brown with a reddish hue, and a thin ring of light tan head.
Aroma is peat, smoke, slight vanilla, and some candy-stuff as well. The taste is pretty sweet, with quite some roastyness to it. Medium and slight oily body, with an average carbonation.

Black, no head. Aroma of peat, medicinal, turfed malts, roasted, light sweet mocha and cacao. Quite sweet flavour, light smoke, light astringent wood. Lots of peat, light vanilla, red berries and wood tones. Creamy, very light carbonation. Light sweet finish, smoke and peat.
Nice, love the pronounced Laphroaig while still having some balance.

Keg @ Borefts 2012. The pour’s deep brown with a tiny head. The nose is big, boozy whiskey, vanilla and chocolate fudge cake. Mild peat. The taste is strong sweet wood, some chocolate syrup and coffee cake. Smooth, oily body, viscous. Full, rich. Overall, pretty excellent. Much better than I thought it would be!

Boreft Beer Festival 2012. Black with a small off-white head. Aroma dominated by peat smoke, backed up by licorice and caramel. Sweet licorice an peat smoke flavour with a spicy hint, and notable alcohol

No head, just some blacki bubbles on top of an almost back colored beer. There’s some dark red amber shining through.
The smell has lots of iodine and jodium inside, there’s also some band aid, smoked oak. A bit medicinal.
Taste is earthy with nuts, iodine/jodium, roast, roasted/burnt wood, roasted malts, ash. Different but nice.
Aftertaste is bitter, roast, iodine, and some burnt wood and barleys.
Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, full body and an oily texture.
