Draught @ 4th Borefts Beer Festival 2012, Brouwerij de Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands.

Clear dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, wood, smoke, medicine, light band-aid. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120928]

From tap at Borefts. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is smoked to peated malty. Dark roasted and smoked. Peated, dense malty and light bitterness. Lingering smoked finish.

Draught at Borefts Bier Festival 2012. Dark brown coloured with a small off-white head. Sweet and roasted aroma of caramel and dried fruits with notes of whisky. Sweet and roasted flavour of whisky with notes of dried ruits. Roasted finish.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty smoky woody Laphroaig aroma with hints of chocolate. Roasted malty woody smoky Islay whisky and chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate woody smoky finish.

It pours dark brown, not black, with barely some sparse head. The aroma is a peat festival, pure Laphroaig, with haring and iodine. The base beer is not as roasty as other Imperial Stouts, it’s instead well malty, with caramel, rather sweet; the peaty character is excellent; there is a mild salty presence, and a relatively strong bitterness; as usual, the alcohol is well managed.
Two thirds Barley Wine, one fourth Imperial Stout; another masterpiece by Menno.

Draught at Borefts BeerFest 2012. Almost black - offwhite head. Red berries, high peated, nutty, licorice, dark chocolate, smokey, oakey, whixkey boozy, dried fruits, high malty.

tap at De Molen Festival 2012 ...Deep black ... thin tan lacing ... deep roast ... iodine whisky and soft malt nose ... dark malts ... soft roast ... sweet chocolate ... way too much whisky for me ... and the wrong one for me

Borefts Beer Festival IV. Day 1. Dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Smooth and sweetish dark malts. A little lactose. Smooth TCP whisky. Not bad.

Boreft Beer Festival 2012. Black with a small off-white head. Aroma dominated by peat smoke, backed up by licorice and caramel. Sweet licorice an peat smoke flavour with a spicy hint, and notable alcohol

Tap @ Borefts 2012. Black and opague. Laphroaigh! One of my favorites. But it didn’t dominate as much as I expected. Chocolate and soft peaty notes in both aroma and flavor. Dried red fruit, licorice. Sweet with hints of alcohol throughout the peat. Good!!
