Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has brettanomyces, wood, roasted malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet brettanomyces, malt, alcohol, and roasted malt, leading to a dry finish.

Almost clear dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is surprisingly light, not very RIS at all! Light fine carbonation. A very nice tangy fruits start, it’s almost sour. Dark fruits and a whisper of brett. The smokey whisky kicks in on the back end but never overpowers. Finishes smooth with a whisper of TCP. A very unusual RIS and one of the best aged in peat whisky barrels.

Bottle from De Molen beershop, Bodegraven, bottled 19 March 2013
Dark brown color, not yet black, with small frothy head. The aroma is dubious, there is some peat, but also some vinegar, fruits, dust, light chocolate. Good body structure; nice flavor of caramel and some chocolate, with light sourness that adds dynamics; correct bitterness, with a lightly dusty final.
Good but dirty.

33cl bottle thanks to Menno at Kent BF 2013, drunk at home. Dark brown beer, thin beige head. Malty peaty smoky aroma. The caol ila is a little stronger than the pure tcp of the laphroaig. Some chocolate as well. It’s interesting. I mean I love the straight Rasputin and there is still some of the base beer here. The peatiness is interesting. I mean it’s got a lot of islay whisky character. Not my favourite, but hey it’s drinkable enough and for such strong flavours, it kinda works. Kinda wild but kinda constrained as well given the strong flavours on display.
