3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 jackl (389) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 12, 2012
Bottle. Pours a deep brown with faint red highlights. Disappointingly tiny tan head that quickly disappears. The nose is a bit yeasty, roasted malts, fruity port. Taste is quite sweet - chocolate syrup, dark fruits, roasted, charred coffee beans. Very thick body, long, slightly boozy finish. Virtually no carbonation. Overall, pretty decent.

03/02/2011 Ma che siete venuti a fà (handpump). Bevuta al Macche con Pippi. Nera, profonda, impenetrabile, schiuma biancastra.

OVERALL: completely flat, chocolate is quite overwhelming, good body despite flatness. May need another sample.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Bosskie (216) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 5, 2012
Black beer with reddish highlights, transparent I think but very dark. Weak head and no carbonation.
Muddy milk chocolate dominates the smell, mixed with subtle toffee and caramel. Also coffee and a flowery bitterness. A touch of alcohol to remind us there’s 10% in there. Also a kind of farm smell: leathery earthy, dark fruit... very subtle.
Taste is rather watery with a slicing bitterness surrounded by sweetness. Leathery metallic feel with some floweriness. The stoutness more in the bitterness as the coffee/toffee part is very subtle.
Well balanced water-sweet-bitterness although the wateriness can be a bit overbearing. The finish is remarkable, evolving from a coffee bitterness into a grapefruit-like acidness.
