Bottle @ RBSG grand tasting, good beer I have to say I liked it. This was a cool beer I wish I knew who shared this but I did have it.

Courtesy hopscotch. Pours a reddish brown and slightly watery. Aroma is malty and with a candy like like sweetness. Taste is caramel, sweet malt and a slight bourbon bite. Slightly thin, did not think this was very well balanced.

750 ml bottle.  #406.  Pours a very dark muddy brown with a medium sized beige head.  Aroma of vanilla, figs, prunes and fudge.  Taste of figs, prunes, tootsie rolls, grains, and vanilla fudge.  Way overpriced.

Tasty. Lots of oak and grain in the aroma. More oak in the flavor, with a grain flavor. It is quite dry. Nice smoke, a touch of sugar, and vanilla. No carbonation, which is fine in an English style imperial stout. Very smooth palate and from a full bodied, throat coating beer.

First of all: Why on earth is there a wax seal on my beer?! It’s irritating to clean it all off before opening the bottle - and in the end you still risk having left overs in your glass. Well, nevermind. The beer is black with a grey head and has a nice aroma of spice, yeast and liqourice. The flavours are chocolate-like with some alhohol, roasted bread and caramel. It’s good but also a bit young and unbalanced. I reckon it will improve with age.

750ml Bottle: Lightly sweet aroma. Smells of sweet cream, malts, piney hops, chocolate, alcohol, and sugar. Poured dark brown with hints of ruby and black in color and a medium-sized, dense, creamy, khaki head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Full of medium and large-sized particles. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of cream, roasted malts, alcohol, piney hops, and some chocolate. Medium to full body. Smooth, creamy texture. Soft to average carbonation. Smooth, chalky finish with some alcohol to it.

Pours turbid ruddy dark brownish blackish with 1-finger tan head. Nose is dark malt, nutmeg, floral hops, chocolate, christmas aley spices. Tastes roasty, pruney, spicy, with nutmeg, hops, heavy prune and molasses notes. Complex but a bit off the beaten path for an impy stout. Nonetheless, this one was unique and enjoyable.

PIB 2008. Pours dark brown with a small khaki head. Burnt chocolate notes up front, a bit of a roasty quality, a bit astringent, big bitter bakers chocolate to the finish. The palate was to light for me, carbonation was to high making it all airy and emphasizing the bitterness and cutting through any of the malt depth of it.
