250ml on-tap from Arendsnest Proeflokaal, Amsterdam (€6.00):
I felt like I rushed through this one a little and should have taken a touch more time to fully appreciate it but it was such a strong beer with a huge kick at the end so it wasn’t like I downed it in one. The beer was quite a sweet one throughout with a nice chocolate malt flavour that had an excellent balance and went down surprisingly easy for such a strong beer, excellent stuff and definitely one worth trying.

New Beer Distributors, NYC bottle ($8.25): pours black with a small brownish head. Aroma is fruity, dark chocolate, and hints of weak coffee. Body is milky and smooth. Taste is kind of sweet. Low bitterness. Alcohol is well covered, of course. Has some complexity to it (again not surprising). Some liquor type tastes sure be there. This would go great with sausage.

UPDATED: APR 25, 2015 Uitgeschonken in Struise bierglas.

Bottle, 330 ml. Courtesy of Miro, shared with him and JFK10000. Pours dark brown with tan head. Roasted malts, caramel and fruits in aroma. Roasted malts, chocolate, licorice. Hint of alcohol. Very good, but maybe I’ve expected a bit more.

0.33 bottle. Very dark brown color abd a small, brownish head. Aroma of dark malts, coffee, dry dark fruits, licorice, rye bread, and some port wine. Taste of dark malts, quite some roast, alcohol warmth, again delicate licorice, and port. Full body, thick texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is strong, vinous, warm, and quite good. Overall a really pleasant experience. The thick texture and full body make for a perfect palate.

On tap at Craft Beer Co. Pour is deep black with a very small tan head. Aroma and flavor of dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, dried fruit, rye bread, and slight wine/sherry. Finish has added notes of oak and caramel. Good.
