UPDATED: FEB 24, 2016 In bottiglia.

0,33L bottle as Rasputin. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose gives a wide palette of nearly everything - coffee, caramel, toasted bread, fruits, raisins, herbs etc. Taste has also very many variations. Sweetness, spiciness, sourness, bitterness, crispiness, creaminess etc. Very good and variable beer!

On draft at The Festival 2015. Pours a deep stout black with a tan head. Nose is roast, dark chocolate, sweet chocolate, earth, molasses, and slight smoke with vanilla. Flavor is similar with roast, earth, dark chocolate, molasses, and vanilla. Medium to full in body -- a nice, complex stout.

As Rasputin 2015. Dark Stout pour, small mocha colored head. A: very intense autumn fruitiness, blackberry, prune, vanilla note, marmalade. Oddly, fruitiness mellows down, sweet Stout returns, caramel malts, bourbon note. T: fruity notes return here, dark fruits; condensed marmalade of raspberry, blueberry, strawberry. Light sour, light bitter development with almost a syrup mouthfeel. Faintest alcohol note. Strong swelling fruity bitterness in aftertaste. This one was fresh, wonder what happens if matured.

Shared bottle (cellared, bottled February, 2013) at The Avenue Pub, New Orleans. As Cease and Desist. Almost black with tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malts, dark chocolate, dark fruits. Some oxidation noted, has almost a rust-like, metallic flavor as well. But all in all, still very good.

Bottle brought back from a trip to Amsterdam. Pours mahogany with a rim of beige foam. Fairly mild aroma of cocoa and treacle. The taste starts sweet with a touch of spice. Quite fruity with chocolate and nuts. There’s some treacle toffee going on too. The finish remains sweet with something I can’t quite put my finger on. Vanilla perhaps. Overall it’s a bit too sweet for my tastes.
