Good tasting Imperial Stout. Nice aroma, bittering taste but not too bold. Slow-drinking and enjoying beer. De Molen style.

Bottle shared at Christ’s post GBBF minidig 16/08/2014. Dark mahogany brown coloured pour with a samll tan head. Aroma is earthy dark roasted grains, farmyard and some nutty malts. Flavour is composed of raisin, dried fruits and berries, nutty choc malts. Palate is semi-sweet, moderate carbonation. Some soy sauce lingering. Not so keen on this, maybe a bad bottle.

2008 vintage, 6 years old now. Bottle 279/319.
Pours a muddy brown with no head. Aromas of light roast, chestnuts and a hint of coffee. Taste is semi sweet. No alcohol detected. Almost completely flat. The combo of all that makes it highly chugable, almost like drinking water. Finishes with cocoa and roast. Top notch.

Hummmm encore

Shared by martjoobolut, thanks! Bottled on 15. may 2009, opened on 7. november 2014. Brown to black beer, almost no head to speak of. Nose is caramel, wooden bitterness, dried fruit, raisins, roast, vanilla, touch of coffee and chocolate. The aging is apparent in the flavor, it’s smooth and blended, a touch oxidized, more woody bitterness, almost like peat, dried fruit, roast, chocolate, licorice. Flat carbonation, full bodied and syrupy.

33cl teku. Pours a beige, dense and thick, quite very small head which slowly grew; darkest brown to black colour. Very nice roasted malt, cocoa, chocolate, bit dessert/vanilla aroma. Tastes quite much on the dark malts side rather than the hops, chocolate, roasted, bit spicy and yeasty, some coffee and licorice hints. You can’t almost distinguish the sweet / bitter notes, cause it’s well balanced and well "blended". The moderate sweetness suddenly changes into an almost "refreshing" mild bitter note. Medium bodied, slick texture, soft carbonation, not very persistent, leaves your palate clean and ready for the next sip. I was really astonished by the drinkability of this thing, especially considering the +10 %; not the most complex, but maybe one of the best Imp Stout I’ve ever had, smooth and balanced; a belgian style IS. Highly reccomended, I would also suggest this to ones who don’t normally like imp stouts
