Sampled at Springslicker’s Fish Fry ’09. Clear red pour with big tan head and particulate. Aroma of green wood. Alcoholic and antiseptic off flavors along with chocolate. Overated IMO.

Bottle shared by BOLTZ7555 at hellbilly’s holiday tasting. Dark brown pour with a small tan head. Aroma of smoky malt, fruit and chocolate. Flavor is roasty malt and chocolate, with a bit of ripe fruit. Good stuff. Thanks Jason!

750ml bottle shared by BOLTZ7555 at hellbilly’s holiday tasting. Pours midnight black with a one finger tan head. The nose is very fruity with milk chocolate and roasted malt. The taste is ashy cocoa, dark fruit, roasted malt and a touch of sourness. Medium bodied. Pretty decent. Thanks Jason!

750 ml bottle. Pours black with a rather big brown head. Rosted, smokey, hoppy and chocolaty. A bit to short lasting taste to get real top grades.

22oz bottle. Pours a near black with a tan thick foamy head. Roasted chocolate nose with some serious bready yeastiness. Almost german influence. The flavor is huge roasted malt and chocolate up front with some really tasty bready german yeastiness. I quite like the pairing of the yeast I normally associate with dark german beers in a complex imperial stout like this. Silky smooth mouthfeel and alcohol is well hidden. Another very good Impy from De Molen.

Deep brown with a tan head. Roasted, light coffee bitter aroma with some fruit and alcohol sweetness and hints of yeast. Roasted, coffee bitter flavor with a light chocolate sweet note. Dry, roasted finish with yeast notes.
