Backlog. Bottle brewed 21/5-2010. Again, another De Molen i was too anxious with and probably tried too young. Should do with some age.

Best before Feb 25th 2038~!!! Bottle from Yamaichi. A thick viscous oily pour with virtually no head. Big meaty, umami soy aroma with licorice & light chocolate notes. A full bodied beer with chocolate, peat/smoke notes with a BBQ bricket flavor. Really easy drinking with no obvious booziness. Quite peaty, rich umami, meaty dark luscious smokey beer...

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle (label says bottled in September 2012) and it’s called Cease & Desist -- like those fucks at North Coast have anything say about it. Pours one of the lightest stouts I’ve seen (P-Dubs ’White Russian’ Lebowksi stout is the only one lighter I’ve ever had), no head, no lacing. Nose is a whole lotta malt, some caramel and chocolate. Mouth is fucking FLAT (which explains the lack of a head), again, a lot of malt, some coffee, chocolate and caraeml notes, slight bitter finish. ABV is well hidden, however that’s about all this bottle of overpriced garbage has going for it. The one thing it does have in common with the Rasputin that it is referencing with ’Cease & Desist’ moniker is they are both overrated.

Flaska @ Mikkeller Bar, Köpenhamn 7/2-2014. En del fatlagrade toner såsom trä och en aning syrlighet, ganska söt med rostade toner, medelfyllig men med en tunn smak. Lång, syrlig och träig avslutning.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Corked and caged bottle 750 ml at home, into a snifter glass. ABV 10.4%
The cork opens without making any sound, so I can say this is going to be a bit flat. Deep brown colour on the body, with a very thin line of tan foam on top and mainly around the glass instead on the surface. Low retention and minimal lacing.
Aroma is sweet with caramel and lots of stewed dark fruits. A little bit of roasted malts and chocolate coming from the back but quite faint and in no case capable of overpowering the fruity aromas.
Taste is also sweet with sugar, molasses, dark stewed fruits and marmelade. On the finish there is some bitterness though, carrying on for quite a bit. Alcohol notable but only barely.
Medium thin body, very low carbonation as expected. Quite dry on the palate.
Overall a very good and tasty beer with an unexpected flavour profile.
