3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle brewed on 27/2/2013, drunk 10/10/2014. Pours unclear (lots of residue) amber/dark brown with a small nice brownish head that disappears quickly. Strong aroma of roasty malts, caramels, chocolate, dark fruits, nuts, bit of porto wine, also some of that smell of good aged cheese as well... Small hoppy notes... Strong and complex, quite like a quadrupel, loved it. Taste is moderately sweet with a strong presence of the roasted malts. Heavy, quite boozy, yet pleasantly warming. The alcohol is actually pretty well hidden. A nice, but heavy, spicy and slightly alcoholic bite with some notes of the dark fruits and the chocolate as well. Strong bitter, slightly sweet (chocolate) and warm finish of long duration. Complex strong taste. Full bodied, bit of a surprisingly thinnish texture and quite a lively carbonation. Overall seen, this is a nice intense and complex brew. Bit too thin to my likings, but yet this beer is quite a loveable one. Quite similar with quadrupels as well. Would love to re-rate it with a more aged bottle. Think it will only work out better...

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
bouteille 33 cl

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
A bit alcoholic aroma, with plums, raisins, chocolate cake, dark malts, red wine notes. Unbelievable rich aroma. It’s pitch black, completely non-transparent, with rather no head. Mouth feeling - perfect. Smooth and velvety. Perfectly well carbonated. Alcohol is noticeable, but it is very very well settled. My beer was bottled on 27/02/13 and opened 08/10/14 so it had some time to get even better. Taste is simply as amazing as aroma. Very rich, very deep, malty, chocolate. Amazing.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
"currently named Disputin thanks to North Coast: very sweet aroma...dark fruit, tar, molasses, licorice. a little too sweet for me, but it’s flavor is better. lots of the same things, but not so in your face. pretty smooth for 11%, but you can tell the alcohol is there. i liked it, but for the price their are more enjoyable impy’s out there. 7/11 now called Cease and Desist. Pretty funny if you ask me, but as far as the beer goes...what the hell? pours dark brown (was pitch black last time) and is thinner. none of the extreme aspects of last time. is the consistency an issue at de molen. if it weren’t on the label i wouldn’t beleive this was the same beer. old score 38, new score 3.4...avg 3.6. 4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at home. 3 years old. Pours a deep, reddish brown colour with a big, soapy, beige head. Has a malty aroma with rye bread, roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, some alcohol and sweet undertones. The flavour is surprisingly sweet at first with lots of chocolate. In the end it’s more roasted with coffee beans and ash. Silky mouth feel, and has a light to medium bitterness. A compact and very nice imperial stout. Pretty sweet actually.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
In bottle dated 03/28/14; absolutely no head when poured. Aroma of candied fruit and some coffee. Taste was a little syrupy and sweet, with a finish of dry cocoa. Overall an OK beer, but De Molen has better options ...
