Sweet molasses, coffee, and alcohol aromas with a bit of bread. Later on, dark chocolate aromas arise and maybe a bit of raspberry. Pours a deep reddish brown with a 1cm tan/brown and long lasting head. Initial taste is sweet on the tongue transitioning to chocolate and nutty bitterness. Starts of smooth and creamy but then goes bubbly and drys out the mouth. A very complex and interesting profile.

330 mL bottle. Maraschino cherries and kids’ cough syrup in the nose. (Is it wrong that now I’m nostalgiac for kids’ cough syrup?) Something doppelbockish in the malt profile. It’s a doppelbock mixed with maraschino cherry juice. Either that, or I had had too much to drink at this point.

33cl bottle. Dark red/brown. No head. Nose : chocolate, red fruits and dried fruits. Toffee. Melon. Sip : medium thick body, oily texture with delicate carbonation. Sweet with chocolate flavour, fruity background. Mild and well balanced. Dried figs aftertaste. Dried fruits and chocolate is well present from the start to the end. Nougat flavour accompany well the taste. Great and delicious.

Flaska från 2008. Smak och doft av choklad, kaffe, malt, humle, farinsocker. Stor beska och saknar lite krämighet.

Pours cola brown with almost no head at all, but laces very well. Aroma of very sweet chocolate. Taste is sugary cheap chocolate, soy sauce, booze and fruit. Not a great stout in my opinion but i dont know about this bottle.

Pours slightly translucent red-brown, little head.
Slightly boozy nose, chocolate (not too dark). Taste starts sweetish with the hazelnut-chocolate, caramelised sugar malts. Dark black tea and some light bitters in rounded finish. Rolls around the tongue.

very dense soft mocha coloured head with lacing. coffee coloured beer. slight alcohol sweet and hoppy aroma. coffee flavour, slight sweetness (lactose?) also an aftertaste of red fruits. really delicious.draft @ baden baden

Mørkt med gyllent høyt skum. Meget god aroma og smak av god humle, sjokolade og kaffe. Balansert sødme. Cardinal.

En opplevelse for en gane. Rik på lukt. Søt fløyelsmyk smak. Minner mer om en porter enn en staut. Med smak av både sjokolade og lakris. Et øl jeg gjerne drikker ved senere annledninger

330mL, bottled 22/6/2010. Pours slightly transparent black with red highlights and a big dense tan head. Aroma of fruit, concentrated hops, chocolate and alcohol. Roasted malt and fairly sweet up front with the bitterness and alcohol taking over, and a little sourness. Medium-full body, soft carbonation with a lingering burnt finish.

Kran Ölrepublikens stånd vid öl och whiskymässan i Göteborg . Detta är nog väldigt bra, kanske lite för komplext för en nybörjare dom jag ? Lite "vintouch" i smaken!
