From the moment I poured this into the snifter, I knew this was going to be a different experience then the heavily roasted stouts stateside. Pours similar to cola with a bit more transparency. Focused aromas and flavors of sweet dark fruit, rum raisin, dried figs, mildly roasted coffee and layers of bruleed sugar. Full bodied, sweet and viscous, with very, very, very little carbonation. While its packaging is small, I found myself slowly sipping on this with leisure, as it's deceptively heavy and the flavors lingered elegantly for minutes. The 10.4% alc is very well integrated. Oddly reminiscent of some barley wines... And I can totally see the potential for this to develop and age nicely for a serious number of years. I recommend this for those that like Barley wines or prefer a less heavily roasted stout profile... This has a sweet, dark, dried fruit dominated profile. I don't have enough experience with this style to accurately define what I'm experiencing.. The alcohol definitely creeps up on you.. Beware. --- tasted while on a long journey to understand the world around me...

Flarra.

Bottle pour labeled under the new name, Cease and Desist. Pours a new black with a big bubbly head. Sweet, slightly boozy aroma. Flavor has sweet fruit, and black licorice. Kind of a pear flavor, which is a little different for the style if you ask me. Interesting beer, and I’m having some trouble really describing what I taste here. I’d like to put a bottle of this away for a while. I see good things for this one in a few years. For now, I liked it. Not quite what I look for in an imperial stout, but I will give this many more tries. Good beer.

2014 bottle. Pours a dark brown with a moderate tan head. Aroma is barley and a savory umami smell. Taste is barley and sweet malt, prune, a little roast, and a fairly sharp coffee bitterness at the end that gives way to the sweetness. Medium thin mouthfeel ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Standard cottle cap on mine (not the cork alike one as on the picture). Nose is fresh of barley (lot of!) and a little something of apple must. Liquid is dark as night and topped by a nice brown and persistant foam. Taste and mouthfeel are more on the barleywine side than the imperial stout as labeled, but it is not a disappointement. Again: roasted malts, molasses, pinch of acidity wich fairly cuts the after-taste. Very good beer, but a bit pricey.

On tap at Doerak (quite cold). Black with a beige head. Somewhat sweet aroma of dark fruits and alcohol. Taste is sweet, dark fruits, hints of chocolate, sweet aftertaste of dark chocolate with some warming alcohol. Nice.
