Opaque dark amber/brown with thick tan head. Aroma of bitter chocolate. Flavor of burnt coffee, dry and full-mouthed. Bitter chocolate finish. Easily our best beer of the night, one of the best stouts I’ve ever had. Heaven.

Pours a very dark brown. Almost black it’s so brown. Large creamy/foamy eggshell colored head. Fades slow. Foam coats and sticks to sides. Huge molasses and chocolate smells with a deep aroma of dark fruits. Smooth smokey chocolate with a large molasses flavor and dark fruits (like plums and maybe even cherry) in the background. Light hints of licorice. This beer is very reminiscent of a Dark Lord but thinner and a tiny bit smoother. The light carbonation keeps this beer from feeling flat while filling the palate. Making this a very drinkable beer, if it were a little more available and a lot cheaper. It is an amazing brew though.

Reddish black with small beige head, fruity excellent odurs with some vanilla and flowers, nice acidity, aroma is actually of belgian style and not of stout, coffee-chocolate flavors with syrupy texture nice gaz pleasant roasted malts and good grapefruit hoppiness, totaly outstanding beer which smell like belgian and tastes like stout.

Bottled, gift from the brewer, thnx very much for that! Cloudy dark color, short creamy lasting head. Aroma of roasted malt, some hop, coffee and licorice, not as strong as in most American Imp Stouts, but more with a Belgian touch. Bitter malty taste, coffee, some chocolat, bit port-like, bit dry, not sweet. Great stuff. It becomes better with every sip and combines the best of both Belgian and American beer worlds. Brilliant.

Hey, I really like this beer and this brewery. Pours not quite black with a light brown head. Aroma of black walnuts - dark fruits - mince - some brandied chocolate; also caramel, raisins and rum. This beer certainly reminds one of a very good Barley Wine, the fruity sweet complexity held togeter with strong malts. The finish is long and rummy. did I say it has chunks?
