Bottle. Creamy high and lasting light brown head. Hazy very dark brown body. Alcohol dominated aroma (which I do not like) in a complex mixture of berries coffee and liquorice. Flavor though is more pleasant without the expected alcohol dominans, or disguised by a strong coffee choccolate liquorice flavor with a creamy and pleasant mouthfeel. Low carbonation, Long bitter sweet creamy aftertaste.

Bottle at home - shared with Mette. Black - light brown head. Coffee, dryness, lactose, tobacco, plastic, yeasty, vegetables, berries, licorice, dark bread. I gets better 30 minutes after pouring..... but it still have this strange plastic and yeast taste.

750ml bottle, 71/524, brewed 12/14/07, bottled 2/1/08, with thanks to acrdz. Pours a surprisingly light brown with a fluffy off-white head, great lacing and moderate retention. Aroma is maybe brown sugar, something else I cant put my finger on, and not much else. Fairly slight on the aroma. Flavor is sweeter, with more brown sugar, almost a cola, and also a bit one dimensional. An enjoyable beer, but none too exciting. I am very glad I got the chance to try this, thanks again Mike.

SpringsLicker’s Fish Fry. Sample from a bottle shared by me thanks to bierkoning. Ugly brown-red with a soft light tan head. Aroma is nutty, some chocolate and roast. Taste is more forward roastiness, chocolate, nuts and soy sauce.

Draft at Brouwerij Lane. Named Cease and Desist, guess its the same beer Pours a dark reddish colour. Huge dried fruit aroma mainly of plums, full bodied, sweet plum taste and a few other things going on, fairly complex and one for sipping.

Pretty cloudy murky brown to very dark brown beer, big aery light beige head, stable and very adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, ripe apples, caramel and mocha. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of sweet caramel, bitter hops, cocoa powder, mocha, coffee and coconut. Aftertaste: caramel, mocha, red berries, coffee, bitter hoppy ending, alcohol warming the throat.

(Bottle 227, 33cl, 2010) The look : Dark like Rasputin’s piercing eyes. Monster head with good retention. Chunks of foam all around the glass. The nose : Fruits, licorice and spicy alcohol. The taste : licorice, hops and alcohol, sweet malts, dark fruits and some chocolate. The mouthfeel : Disappointing medium to light body. Strong carbonation, pretty disturbing. What a disappointment! The finale: Tasty alcohol with a moderate bitterness.

33cl bottle. Pours like a cappuccino, dark with a brown creamy head. The nose has liquorice and treacle. The taste has more of the treacle but with an overwhelming alcohol burn. The palate is thick in structure and texture but a bit cloying. Overall, initially great but too cloying to want another.
