Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy and almost opaque amber with a small and creamy off-white head. Very spicy, woody nose with a pleasant vanilla touch. Medium body only, very fruity, pleasant subtle and very spicy with a slightly tart edge. The alcohol is surprisingly well hidden. 040213

Bottle shared at chriso’s. Pours clear, bright gold with a frothy white head. Some lightly stinging alcohol in the nose, ripe citrus, pine needles. Medium sweet flavor with some infection tang, tart citrus, mild bready sugars. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Tangy citric finish with elements of orange, lemon, some wood. Not bad overall, if a bit atypical.

Barwa: jasno bursztynowa, klarowna. Piana biała, drobno pęcherzykowa, niewielka, szybko opadająca i pozostająca jedynie wokół ścianek. Całość zdecydowanie gęsta, oleista, po dolaniu nieco oblepiająca szkło. Aromat: na pierwszym planie aromaty beczkowe typowe dla bourbona, a więc wanilia, alkohol, lekki kokos. Do tego wyraźne nuty owocowe (morele, mirabelki, pomarańcze). Ogólnie całkiem przyjemny. Smak: zdecydowanie pełny, alkoholowy, lekko kwaskowy, faktycznie nieco winny. Dodatkowo karmel, wspomniana wanilia, kokos, owoce.

Hazy orange without much head. The label doesn’t specify _what_ kind of barrel, but whatever it was, that’s what you smell first -- sweet and buttery. Taste is honey with a buttery rum finish. Not overly complex. Palatte has just enough carbonation to keep the sweetness from becoming sticky.

Bottle at home, from the De Molen shop, 18/06/14. Hazed dark orange amber with a decent light beige covering. Nose is candied fruit peel, bitter Seville orange, prunes, dried apricot, light booze fumes, candyfloss. Taste comprises dark fruits, bitter hop pangs, bitter orange, light spice, boozey wash, dark fruits. Full bodied, fine carbonation, boozey rinse and bitter citric rinds in the close.

12 oz. bottle, pours a hazy dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bourbon barrels, dark fruits, and candied sugar - pretty big n bold here. Flavour is super fruity, with loads of stone fruits, bourbon barrels, candied sugar, and booze. The barrels are used very well here, with a slight boozy burn on the finish. Very well-balanced, well-constructed barley wine.
