Nice reddish colour. Too much carbonation. Aroma of raisons and a little wkisky-like. Taste of caramell and some raisins. I don’t get any "barrel" in the taste.

Overall pretty nice but not a top Barleywine, especially compared to Bommen&Granaten, the base beer is pretty subdued behind the BA character and booze.

330ml-bottle, at home, making a barleywine beer tasting. It's a good beer and I'll definitely try it again but have to say that it was definitely not the best one in my line up.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bardzo udane piwo. Barley Wine starzone w beczkach po burbonie. Nuta drzewa syropu klonowego. Alkoholowa nuta ale szlachetna. Uderza jednak alkohol i jest wyczuwalnie ale specjalnie nie utrudnia to degustacji. Piana niewielka, a praktycznie brak, do tego malenkie zmetnienie. Kolor jasno pomaranczowy. Nuta wytrawna w koncowce ze spora dawka rozgrzewajacego ciepla.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 330 ml at home, into a snifter. ABV 10.2%
Dark orange colour on the body, crystal clear, with a small and froathy off-white head. Low retention, minimal lacing on the glass.
Aroma of malts, heavy apricot smell, alcohol, disinfectants, bourbon.
Very sweet taste, nice and fruity, with peaches and apricots mostly, light vanilla, malts, bourbon, quite boozy.
Medium body, good carbonation, as much as it needs.
Well this one begins a bit weird on the aroma and not so appealing appearance-wise but after it breathes a bit, the aromas mellow a bit. The flavours remain harsh though and the alcohol is way too notable, but as I see on the label this was bottled June 2013 so is relatively young, I think with some age on it the rough edges would round up a bit. Even now though is enjoyable, just too in-your-face.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: APR 10, 2014 Aroma of malts, fruits, apricots, vanilla, oak, bourbon. Flavour is sweet malts, a bit boozy. A bit too sweet and cloying for my taste. Still, a nice Barleywine, I especially enjoyed the oak flavours.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 2 March 2014) Hazy amber colour with dense, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with apricots, orange marmalade, candy sugar, oak wood and a touch of honey. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, apricots, orange peel, candy sugar, oak wood, a touch of bourbon and a fairly sweet finish with a certain alcohol bite. Full body, quite sweet. Thick and rounded mouthfeel. Hardly subtle, but quite tasty. Nice one.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Lighter appearance than I expected, more orange-gold than deep amber, with a lively head. Aroma is barrel-sweet and slightly sour, with a twist of citrus. The palate is much the same, with sweet candyish malts, buttery vanilla barrel character, and a tangy, almost tart finish. The overall apearance and character of the beer reminded me of their Angst & Beven for some reason. Very nice, but a bit unusual.
