Rating #1047 - April 1, 2014 - #nofoolin #beerguychrisgeekbeer #week11 for 2014.. Aroma is brown sugar, wild honey, oak, vanilla. Pours a rich golden amber, barely there white head. Medium carbonation, heavy alcohol warmth. Not unbalanced though - the bourbon oaky vanilla sweetness tempered with bold hop notes. Tempered and smooth. Exquisite.

Coppery beer with a short white head and aromas of caramel, ripe fruits, wood and vanilla. The taste is powerful of malt and toffy with woody notes, liquor-like, spices, vanilla, dry fruits, nuts and cake. Beer cosy and warm with present bitterness and a touch of acidity.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2016 Bottle at home. Cloudy orange colour, foamy white head. Nose gets bourbon first, sweet malty tones, lightly sour/yoghurty. Creamy, nicely bodied taste with hoppy fruits, citrus, lightly sour and funky (infection? quite pleasant actually), bourbon in the finish, alcohol is well hidden. Finish is sweet bourbon. Medium-high carbonation.

Oh boy. Yoghurt, doughy, touch of sour fruit, some spices and wood. Sweetness overrules the sour start. Backlog from 2014/10/18.

At a tasting, thanks, smallish head, murky earthy orange color, aroma of wax, cake, ripe fruits and vanila woodiness, strong vanila traits, strong fruity sourness, spicy cake and some chocolate in the back, light but evident bitterness. Intriguing.
