Very dark reddish brown, like black in the glass. Slightly sourness from the cherish. Chocolate and malts. Better as expected... On the other hand... it’s H&V, i’m just not that a big fan of cherries...

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of licorice, tobacco, leather, pipe, motor oil, peat, whiskey, burnt malts and spicy caramel. Flavor is heavily peated, booze, bitter and with a hint of cherries. Quite out of balance and a bit harsh.

Gedronken op Borefts’13 (bieden op fles). Zwarte kleur zonder schuimkraag. Ruikt naar hout, barrel aged, sterke drank, roasty. Smaakt fruitig, beetje wijn, hout, sterke drank, whiskey, zoet.

24/XII/13 - 75cl bottle @ De Hopduvel (Gent) - BB: no dates (2013-1176) Thanks to Bobochamp for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark brown beer, no head, just a small island of big bubbles floating in the middle of the glass. Aroma: alcohol, disinfectant, bit chemical, caramel, mocha, sugary, hint of charcoal. MF: no carbon, full body. Taste: sweet start, then the alcohol kicks your teeth out of your mouth, bitter hops, roasted malts, bit chemical, yeasty touch. Aftertaste: lots and lots of alcohol, coffee, very bitter hops, slightly fruity, dark chocolate, bit sour, charcoal. Could not find a trace of cherries in it. :-(

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Almost opaque dark brown beer with a small pale tan head. Smooth palate with light fine carbonation. Nice rich dark malt that is not at all heavy. Touch of dark chocolate and cherry. Mellow alcohol spice. Light dry finish. Tasty. For anyone who paid less than ten euros for this - I hope it gave you a hangover!

Bottle cheers to Colin & Ken. It pours black with a small tan head. The nose is rich roast, coffee cake, chocolate, sponge cake, toffee, vanilla yoghurt and tangy berry. The taste is rich roast, toast, toffee, coconut, vanilla, fudge, berry, warming alcohol and coffee. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. A big fat Impy stout for sure. Of course a bit sweet for the likes of me, but tasty anyhow.
