A dark red brown beer, with a very bad light beige head. In the nose the smoke is most present, further there is malt, fruity and yeast. It is a light bodied beer, and very flat. In the taste there, light smoke, light bitter and some chocolat bitter. A very light and simple taste, not what i suspected after the nose. The aftertaste is light bitter and light sweet, does'nt stay long. A beer with a good nose, but disapionting in mouth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

75cl bottle, shared with Mathieu87. APPEARANCE: pitch black beer, nice stable beige head. NOSE: eugenol, smoked, chili. TASTE: eugenol, smoked. I don’t enjoy smoked beers in any way... So it’s hard for me to rate by style. So I’ll rate what I thought of it myself.

Black colour, two fingers mocha head. Aroma of smoke, smoke meat, ash, peat. Taste is a bit sweet, light to medium bitter. A nice smoke flavour. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Very good balance.

Bière fumée de couleur noire, qui sent vraiment la saucisse fumée, un peu de café, de poivre dans le fond. Très originale, à essayer pour la curiosité mais vite écoeurante et vraiment trop portée sur le fumé.

Black with a red tint and deep brown cascading head that settles into a thick tan, frothy, lacy, frothy head. The smell of smoke and liquorish can be felt with the glass far away. Roast, caramel, wood and some dark chocolate. Chestnut and Worcestershire sauce. Medium incredibly oily body. Tastes of smokey, woody malt with a dark bitter roasted, chocolate, burnt finish. The aftertaste is of soya sauce and dark chocolate. Interesting smoked beer.

Bottle .Roasty wood smoked malt aroma. Deep mahogany with a huge loose foamy tan head, chunky off-white sediment. Woody smoked malt, earthy-peaty flavor with a roasty bitter finish. No noticeable chili aroma or flavor - a little warmth at the back of the throat about half way through the beer, but without any identifiable chili flavor. Medium body, lively carbonation. Overall, smoky and earthy and pleasant enough, but nothing really distinctive. ABV very well hidden.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a deep mahogany colour with a frothy tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt and boozy alcohol. The flavour is strong bitter with a liqourice, malt, coffee, alcohol palate. I didn’t really get the chilli i’m afraid. I think the alcohol destroyed it. Nice, but i’ve had much better.

Bottle, bottled 06/08/12, 20/09/13. Pours black with a decent, latte-colored head. Aroma is a lot of smoke and tar, Finnish tar pastilles. Some smoked ham there too. Taste is also a lot of smoke and tar, but not so much tar pastilles. Light salty liquorice, smoked ham again. Aftertaste is malty, tarry, smoked ham. Pretty stiff and full, a bit too much carbonation. Good, but not as pleasant as Schlenkerlas.
