330ml bottle from wheres or the others. Pours with good solid head, nice black body with hints of brown. Aroma of leather, aftershave, my grandpa after being out in the woods for a week at his cabin. Like he just trundled in from the foothills with his pack and smelly old boots, gave the nod to my grandmother, played with his hearing aid, threw some meat in the sink and told her to clean it and get it ready for dinner that night. I, as a kid staring up in wonder, wondered how he got that and where he came from, hadnít seen him in months. Pine. Yeah, pine on the nose - thatís it. Heís been sleeping in pine needles for weeks stalking a deer or an elk or something and finally carved off a piece for dinner. His shirt is stained from gun oil and there is that faint hint of something flammable having been ignited in the past 12 hours. Then, Iím there in the toolshed with dad and grandpa, heís cleaning his boots and this smell comes around again. The flavour is the shoe polish heís using to get his boots cleaned, some gun oil, and some caribou meat. Chunks of abandoned beef jerky are roasting by the wood stove. He takes out a leather strap to sharpen his blade. Swish, swish, swish, I can hear it against the leather strap and getting sharper. The toolshed is filled with smoke from the woodfire and only a candle or two keeps us lit from darkness, total humid darkness in the hot dry summer of the southern mountains. I can taste that bone dry wood ready to burn at any minute, pine needles and twigs crunching underfoot with a starry sky above; The brew drifts away quickly, doesnít leave anything nasty, and is full of character. Iíll linger for awhile. This brings back memories, intense ones, and not once does it break the suspension of disbelief. Well done.

Dark brown to black colored, strong tan creamy head, long lasting. Aroma is extreme peated, roasted malt, burnt wood, bit burnt pancetta, burnt chilli. Taste is medium sweet malt, caramel, roasted, bit chocolate but again mostly burnt wood, peat, ashhhhh! burnt pancetta, some chilli in the finish with spiciness, dry burnt bitter finish, lasting chilli aftertaste. Medium+ bodied, soft carbonation, creamy. (bottle, Pivoteka Zagreb)

Vells (1602) - RÓga, Latvija, LATVIA - FEB 20, 2016
Nice, well balanced and quite expressive beer, tho I should repeat this under more clear mind, because this time I had plenty of smoked brews, IMP stouts included. Roasted malts, with nice smoke touch, light chili, bit dark choco, kinda dried fruits, ashtray. MOderate sweet with moderate to light bitterness, light tartness. Interesting and balanced beer, but it kinda lacks "the kick"

330ml bottle pours black in color with a vigorously poured finger of light brown head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasted grains and smoke with some hints of chocolate. Taste is smoky with a chocolate malty sweetness and a roasted grain bitterness finishing with some heat from the chili peppers. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, this is a nice brew that suits the style well and I recommend to others.
