Vendor told me some bottles were off, but this one fortunately isn’t. Leathery, dark brown colour with good grayish brown head. Fantastic aroma dominated by smoked peat, but very well complemented by chili peppers, licorice, pine and maybe some berries. Very bitter taste, and the chilis give it just a very small spiciness, which should be acceptable for everyone (unlike Hot & Spicy, which I absolutely loved but didn’t go down well with everyone). Easily the best smoked ale I’ve had, although I haven’t had many.

330ml bottle, BB 7 Jul 2019. Dark brown, ruby highlights, small off white head, low carbonation. Strong aroma of smoked bacon, bourbon, campfire, charred meat. The taste also has a very strong peat smoke character, bacon, chocolate maltiness, earthy and spicy hop bitterness. Medium bodied, fairly slick, low carbonation. Quite good but the smokiness is a little too prominent.

33cl bottle. Dark brown with beige head. Poor retention. Intense Smoke, dark malts and lightly chillies in the aroma. Average to soft carbonation and medium body. Taste is smoky with some chilli notes towards the end but fainted by the intense smoke notes. Overall, not exactly a beer to have in a BBQ but drinkable.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2016 Not something I would want to drink everyday, but quite interesting nonetheless. Smoke, burnt matches, cacao, graphite, chipotle. Subtle sweetness, subtle bitterness. Not much foam. Carbonisation is nice and subtle.

Bottle from Real Ale Store, Newark. Almost black cola colour with a thin tan head. Aroma smoke, peat, toffee. Taste simlar but also has a touch of light fruit. Medium body low carbonation.

Rökig doft! Röksmak med en hint av choklad. Mörk med stor ljus skumkrona. Rökigheten ligger kvar länge I munnen!

33cl bottle, served in snifter glass. Poured black with faint red hue. Two finger tan head. Aromas of peated smoke, chili peppers, dark chocolate, bacon. Taste: Massive BBQ Smoke, Loads of Chilli Peppers, peat, bacon, dark chocolate, vanilla, dark fruits, caramel, licorice, roasted malts. Lots and lots of smoke and fire in this brew indeed. Full body with a very sharp and long lasting chili pepper finish. It’s friggin’ burning inside my stomach now! Very tasty and fun brew! Bury me in SMOKE...

330ml bottle @Pułapka. Smell of chilli gets through a heavy smoked sausage, some hints of coffee and plums also get through althogh all the smokyness covers most of the aromas with a tight blanket. Pours black with almost no head, I’d say that whatever small head there is, goes down in seconds. Taste made if for me. Being a fan of chillies and smoked foods to drink a beer that tastes of coffee and chocolate and is intensively warming because of the chillies was a very plesant experience. The finish is spicy because of the chillies that dominate it. The alcohol, if it’s there, is hidden behind the chillies very well. Feels full and oily. Very pleasant. I did enjoy it very much. Would love to put my hands on another bottle to see how it ages.

Black pour, small brown head. Aroma of bacon, chiles, ham. Flavor of ham and chocolate (!!!) with a nice, subtle spiciness. Nice round mothfeel.
