330 ml bottle bought at The Bottle Shop in Sai Kung.

Cloudy hazy dark amber colour with dirt like yeast sediments; Explosive three finger head with rich, long lasting crumpety off white foam; Excellent sticky lacing with soft fizzy carbonation; Fragrant sweet aroma of floral, with grapefruit, honey, orange, lemon, light spices, light earth, malt, and herbal hops; Medium sweet taste of rich malt, with light grapefruit, orange peels, lemon, spices, light molasses, earth, barks, yeast, spices, potent liquorices, bitter lime and herbs; Full body, quite thick and smooth palate; Mouth feel is rich malt dominated by thick and smooth oats and spicy rye. Fruity taste from Cascade and Armarillo is not amplified, rather weak in comparison. Very earthy, spicy, and unique astringency from the adjuncts. Interesting; Hoppiness is decent floral, honey, light fruits, and earthy nose and taste. Very sharp and astringent taste partly from hops and also from grains, for a low and lasting finish; Slightly dry after taste, bitter and rich to mouth.

Comments: This one showcase the various grains for very nice head, sticky lacing, rich body, smoothness, and unique bitterness. If it can express more Cascade and Armarillo’s fruity characters, it will be perfect. A mid-to-top range De Molen, but still a pretty good one.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2013 Very nice. A lovely caramel, malt aroma tinged with peach. Good body, then lasting bitterness, reminds me of mikkeller ipa. Maybe lacking a tad in the mid tate

Nice reddish copper color with a medium foamy head, beige, longlasting. Opaque. Intense hoppy aroma, fresh, balanced with notes of toffee. Lemon zest, pine, peaches and herbal notes are present, too. However, the mouthfeel is light, with an acid twist from the rye and an earthy touch. Watery texture, well carbonated, low bodied. Refreshing and very drinkable, it’s a good beer, but far from the best ones from De Molen.

Good surprise this De Molen bier!! Very hopsy taste for a strong IPA (6,6%). For me over this degree, it break the hopsy taste...

11,11,10,11,12,11 - 10,90 - 14/

Bottle from the bottle shop at De Molen. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is rich, hoppy with citrus fruit. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a grassy, dry spicy pepper, liqourice palate. I really liked this and at 6.6% I could drink it all night. Hey, now there’s a great idea :-)

Bottle from fish and beer, copenhagen. Reddish orange color, nice little white head. Aroma is sweet malts and fruity hops, quite nice, some citrus also. Balanced malty body, hops nicely bouncing in mouth, little soapy. But excellent ipa.
