Brown long-neck bottle, poured into a tulip glass at home. ABV 6.6%. Bottled on 23 Jan. 2013. Pours a very muddy and murky orange colour beer, with one finger od off-white head, low retention and light lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus fruits and florar hops. A bit of smokiness too, is this coming from the chinook? Taste is mildly bitter at first, becomes much more intense bitter on the aftertaste. Lots of florar notes. Medium on the body, light to medium carbonation. Nice dryness on the palate. Good IPA, but not as good as others I had from De Molen.

Rye IPAs are always good, right? Delicious, malts are there with a lovely balance from the hops. I really have little to say. Spain tomorrow. Lager heaven?

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; cloudy brown pour with white head, piney hop aroma, biscuity malt tropical hop goodness mango etc slightly peppery.

33cl bottle (bottled on Jan. 23rd, 2013) picked up at the De Molen bottle shop pours with an opaque copper-y body that supports a full tan head of foam that leaves behind spotty lacing. The aroma offers up resiny almost pine like hops, a spicy rye bread note and then some grapefruit, lime and tangelo citrus hoppiness with slivers of malt sweetness. The taste is pretty rich in hoppiness with the same notes noted in the nose. I get a good dose of grapefruit and lime citrus hops that run straight into resiny bitter citrus and pine like hoppiness. Nice. It goes from flavor hoppiness and then into resiny bitter hops and then back to mildly malt sweetened hop flavor. I’m enjoying this one.

Countbeer (2852) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - FEB 22, 2013
Bottle: Ok, the aroma from the bottle is lovey crisp and hop fruity. Than the pour is murky amber brown and leaves a murky muddy brown beer in the glass with an unequal spread small head which changes into a a thin unequal spread lacing. Then the aroma is way more nettle than from the bottle, there was no nettle from the bottle. Aromas of nettle, floral and herbs, peach, citrus and apricot, some yeast, some citrus candy. Flavours of floral herbs and floral hops, gass (while there is no carbo), fruity, peach, some citrus, bitter, floral and hop bitter, nettle, some malts and a sparkling light spicy plant floral tone. Aftertaste is very grassy, green grass and freshly cut grass and something creamy hay ish. Low to more no carbo, soft oily thick mouthfeel, medium body and an oily ish texture. Strange mix all together, but not bad at all. Was just thinking a carbo less IPA could be nice, but I rather got some carbo in this beer.

Bottle from beernavigator (dutch online site). 2nd RIPA for the evening. Having this after the Jopen Jacobus RPA. Less foam on this, Much better aroma. Fresh RIPA. Sweeter in aroma than taste. Perhaps some pineapple in the aroma. Haven´t had so many De Molen before this one, but have to say that the impression is good. Of course their reputation is already great. It’s better than the Jopen RPA, but I think that bottle was bad. Might have this again, but De Molen is not that common in Sweden and if I order again online I think I might go for something else. Quality beer, but a bit subtle.

0,3 liter fles. @home. IPA is niet mijn ding. Dit was geen zwaar bier. IPA viel ook wel mee.
