3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - SEP 6, 2011
Hazy amber color; big head; too high carbonation actually. Nice hop aroma, even if not the typical Saaz: it’s a bit grassy, very light citrus fruits and chamomile, light cereals aroma too. The flavor is a blend of caramel and some cereals; quite strong bitterness, with grassy and earthy tones, but the Saaz doesn’t really fly, no hop freshness. A pleasant IPA, but...

Seifig-hopfiger Antrunk, in dem rauchig-bittere Noten stören. Diese entwickeln sich weiter und bleiben störend, gummiartig, muffig, beim Hopfen störend, der nun nur noch wenig aromatisch ist. Trocken, dunkel, etwas malzig. Bitter-gummiartiges Finish. Die anderen Hopburst Biere waren deutlich besser! 11/8/7/7/11/7

330ml bottle, no.202, from Ølbutikken in Copenhagen. Cloudy golden body. Full, frothy white head that left a good amount of spotty lacing on the glassware. Smell of dusty hops. Spiced dry hops in interplay with earthy malts in flavour. Rather sharp bitter ending. Well balanced and fine bodied (shared with Finn, Tromsø 17.11.2010).
