3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330 ml bottle bought at The Bottle Shop in Sai Kung.
Cloudy hazy golden orange colour with traces of scrappy yeast sediments; Explosive three finger head with rich, long lasting crumpety off white foam, almost like a Belgian ale and very similar to Lentehop; Very sticky lacing with soft fizzy carbonation; Very fragrant aroma of grapefruit, jackfruit, raisin, dark fruits, honey, floral, orange, sweet malt and light grass; Light sweet taste of moderate grapefruit, light jackfruit, raisin, light ale malt, lemon, molasses, yeast, light spices, light lime and fairly light hops; Medium body, slick palate; Mouth feel is quite refreshing light grapefruit and strong elements of raisins, jackfruits and some prune and dark fruits. Lighty ale-malty and lemony lime background, light spices, nothing too rich nor heavy. Quite refreshing to tongue and sparkling to my mind! Hoppiness is good fresh grapefruit and jackfruit nose. Decent light grapefruit and citrus, and really light hops with not much bitterness nor astringency for a somewhat empty finish. Slightly dry after taste, very easy to mouth.
Comments: Unlike the rich and spicy Lentehop, this one is all about good fresh aroma of Citra hops - grapefruit, tropical fruits and raisins, at the expense of taste and hoppiness. I believe this is what the brewers intended, as more hoppy and heavy stuffs are available elsewhere in its long lineups. If you are looking for some light and refreshing IPA, this is it. Quite recommended.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Kris Wines. Bottled 18/03/13. A lively pour which resulted in a gold colour with a foamy white head. sweetish, sticky, piney, herby, grassy with a touch of caramel and, oddly, pencil eraser. Light body. Slightly sweet initially, and a bit lemony with a bitter finish. Not a huge amount going on really. It is a touch on the bland side. OK.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Underwhelming beer yet again from De Molen. Aroma is good, like an IPA should be and the bitterness is there, but it just turns into a bitter, even slightly sour aftertaste. Wish I had another one for my 1200th.
Bottle from Bierenzo Rotterdam.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Keg at Birmingham Beer Bash. Classic looks - cloudy amber body and a thick head of foam. Aroma pleasant though not particularly strong - slight banana and citrus hops and yeast. Underwhelming taste is watery and lacking depth or duration of finish. So so.

Orange beer with small froam, which disappears before end. Aroma: It’s only grass. Bitter is light to medium (after heating up). Palate: Light lemon-grass bitter with fizzy carbonation. Is this IPA for sure?

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not clear, with a very good white head. Sweet in the noise with a moderate hoppy smell. A sweet and soft medium bodied beer. The caramel malts are very prominant, where i expected the citra to be prominant. But overall it is a balanced beer. In the aftertaste there is a little bitterness, and end with the caramel malts.
