Wow! A very rich and amazing beer. Bottle at home. First smell is intense. Lots of dark stoutish tones like coffee, roadted malts & dark chocolate, it is more bitter than average. It has bourbon & vanilla, little booze. One of the best beers from brouwerij de molen i have tasted so far. ---Rated via Beer Buddy (iOs)

(De Molen Sodom & Gomorra Barrel Aged) Bottle 330 ml at home, vintage 2012. Served into a snifter, ABV 11.9% Black coloured body, head consisting mostly of brown bubbles, bursting quickly. Aroma of roasted malts, whiskey, iodium, alcohol, some fruity touches after a swirl of the glass. Taste also of whiskey, roasted malts, coal, alcohol, light vanilla, light chocolate, a bit of oxidation but not annoying at all. Medium body, low carbonation, sticky palate. Pretty good.

Imperial stout nera ed impenetrabile, massiccia, prepotente, avvolgente e rotonda dove l’invecchiamento in legno conferisce spessore e sentori fruttati e dolciastri al carattere tostato-cioccolatoso di base. Potentissima.

From a 33 cl bottle purchased at Borefts 2012. Pours black with a feint tan head. Very little carbonation. Aroma of chocolate. Flavors of whisky. Not particuarly complex, but quite tasty.

2012 vintage. 11.9 ABV Flat, just a ring of small bubbles. Black with hints of deep ruby. Complex nose. Whiskey, bourbon, chocolate, peat, licorice, ash and wood. Peat builds as it warms. Peat at first but turns milk chocolate sweet. Caramel, licorice, char, rubber, and whiskey and bourbon soaked dark fruits. Slick and oily. Well balanced with an ash finish. Solid as heck, much higher if it had carbonation.

Bottle, bought from Bierkompass in March 2013. Black with a minimal head. Vinous with roasted malt, coffee, light smoke, oak, some bourbon. Almost no carbonation and with a full body. The finish was long, fairly bitter and with warming alcohol. A nice one to sip.

My Dutch beer rating # 50, so a De Molen beer should be suitable. Pitch black with a thin tanned head. Roasted aroma with barrel, fruits, soy sauce, coffee, caramel, chocolate and a smoked-peat note. Lots of "sweet barrel" in this one. Taste is light sweet-roasted. Full body with an oily texture and a flat carbonation. Long lasting roasted finish with barrel, fruits, soy sauce and smoke. Lingering barrel. Excellent Stout with lots of good barrel in it.
