Fantastic stout, dark almist black color, foam is a little thin and the bobbles hard. But the biting aftertaste of chocolate and chili makes it a big winner. Good thinking.

Pours black into a tulip. Tan head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Dark chocolate and chili aromas. Medium bodied with sweet dark chocolate and mild chili upfront leading to a lasting bitter espresso finish.

Black&Brown, Round & smooth, Latte&Macchiato. Dried fruit and some ground pepper. No abv fumes whatsoever, nice one - and among the lightest fare De Molen brought along this day...

Small bottle from De Bierkoning shared at a local tasting. Black body with a light brown rim. Roasted chocolate and raisins on the nose. Full bodied, smooth and oily with roasted notes, chili flavor and subdued warmth.

Bottle. Black colour with a tan head. Aroma is alcohol, coffee, roasted malt, chocolate. Flavour is dry, alcohol, coffee, roasted malt, hop, chili, chocolate. Full body. Nice beer.

Shared bottle at local tasting. Pours black with no head. Aroma is roast, cocoa and some spices. Chipotle comes more in front in the taste, together with a roasty dry malty addition. Dry bitter end.

330 ml bottle, kindly shared by abemorsten. Black colour. Roasty and slightly smoked (chipotle?) aroma. Fairly dry roasty flavour, a moderate warming chili burn in the aftertaste.

beige head that disappears quickly. dark coffee coloured. smells of coffee and burned malts. bitter, sour and very salty taste (the label wasn’t lying), slight hot aftertaste. interesting but not really my thing.bottle 33cl / notes from backlog

Solid black with a light brown tint under the light with a creamy, lasting, lacy, thick tan head. Smells of light chillies, dark chocolate, coffee roast, prune/raisin, overripe red berries. Full rich oily silky body with no carbonation. Tastes of dark chocolate and coffee with shuttle chillies and ripe red fruit in the background. A but of liquorish with a lingering bitterness. At first it’s mostly roast and towards the end it becomes dominated by the rip berries.
