Bottle 9/1/15. Pours as expected, some head settles to ring. Nose is bitter dark chocolate and soy sauce, fresh ground dark coffee. Taste loses the soy sauce (thank god) and instead you get a heavy-medium bodied beer with very light carbonation. Dry and bitter. Dark cacao, raw vanilla bean, espresso. A faint ashy quality. Very mild spice on the lips. Subtle anise flavor. Quality beer and you can taste it, although I would like to taste a little more chili pepper if that's what's being advertised. Overall, solid brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown with plenty of sediment floating around and a small, short lived, creamy, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, caramel and a hint of peppers. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice, coffee, caramel, mild chili pepper, a hint of smoke and salt in a dry, warming booze finish. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Very well made and nicely balanced.

Bottle 0.33l at Cafe Gollem De Pijp Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 23.06.2016. Pour it dark color with small white head. Aroma funky with some smoke note. Taste starts with sweet feel, cacao, little bit smoked, ham, salty at the end, really interesting and strange in a good way, smooth texture, full body. Good one!

Uit de fles geschonken. Mooi zwart bier met minimale schuimkraag. Aroma van geroosterde mout, gedroogd fruit, smaken vooral geroosterde mout, koffie, chocola, lichte rook, wat gedroogd fruit. Mooie complexe imperial stout.

Pours black with a little crema like head. The nose has lots of hard roast. Licorice powder.. The salty kind. The taste has only light sweetness but rather hard roast, some small hints of pepper and 99% dark chocolate and licorice. Mouthfeel is medium rich with medium carbonation, honestly, pretty underwhelming.
