4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Black beer with a strong off white to light brown head. The aroma is mildly malty whilst roasted and smokey. The flavour is very bitter and roasted with a port like quality about it. Overall a very nice Imperial stout.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle - Milk chocolate, chili pepper and some light bitter coffee notes. Jet black with a thin but rich brown head. Itís all there, chocolate, coffee, salt and just enough chili burn in the throat. Funny, these are considered the perfect combinations in chocolates right now. Bang on.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A brown to black beer, with little to no head, head disapears quickly. In the nose there is sweet, alcohol, light roasted malts, coffee and malts. It is a medium bodied beer, with a low carbonation. In the taste there is chocolate, light coffee, light bitter, light sweet, light salty and pepery. In The aftertaste the salt and peper are stronger. A fun beer!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330 ml bottle shared with the metallurgist. Pitch black with a thin mocca head. Aroma has massive cocoa, roasted malt, alcohol, liquorice and faint chilies. Taste has cocoa (more with increasing temp), chocolate, taste of chilies but with no heat, salty liquorice with high bitterness. Complex and interesting!

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very bitter from the roasted grains do not drink on a fast way.
Very nice to drink amongst beer-lovers who want something special.
The difference with an IPA (much hops) is is enormous.
The beer foam is good; the color is almost black but the taste is special.
I am a hobby brewer myself but I dare not to copy this beer: it is too com plicated. Rasputin and some others from the same brewer are also very remarkable .

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at home, 29th November 13. Interesting aroma, mix of the expected with more. Taste is great, smooth, good flavours, chocolate, some leather, faint chilli, but it is present, well balanced and not dominant, i think I get the salt also. Great little sipper.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thinish black porter looking pour with some light tan looking head. Aroma of roasted malts, anise, a touch metallic. Hits the palate with a slighty sour pinch, strange mouthfeel, a bit of spice on the finish. Itís an interesting brew no doubt, but the flavour combination doesnít really work for me, it does say imperial stout-ish on the bottle which is a good way saying this beer is somewhere between that and the experimental.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Erzbierschof, Bern, bottled June 4th 2012, 1 year old
Black color, medium sized head. The aroma is mild, itís a bit dusty, vinous and roasty. Lean mouthfeel; there is a mix of roast malt with vinous character, light chocolate, very light chili peppers; correct bitterness; the lingering sourness is not exactly appreciated here.
