En nas i noto bàsicament els torrefactes de la malta. En boca és molt més complexa. Cacau, llúpol, salt, pebre,... No apte per a tothom, però molt bona. A cada glop millora.

Bottle. Pours a totally pitch black color with a medium brown head. A nice deep nose of roast, chocolate, some dark fruit. Very rich dark fruit, I certainly get a tropical vibe from the pepper which mimics hops, some clear salt in the finish. All together, this works well. The base flavor is slightly smoky with big dark fruit. Quite easy to drink a few.

Bottled 330ml. -at Pivoteka Zagreb. Dark brown head, small tan head, chocolate in the nose. Heavy roasted malt, chocolate, alcohol, notes of wood and cocoa powder with mild spicy finish. Subdued salt and even more chilli. Very good beer but something is missing to be great one.

Bottle. Colour...nearly black with a thin tan head. Nose...smoky, bacony and lightly briney with notes of soy and smoke. Palate...anise, soapstone and bonfire smoke with a bountiful array of spicy, smoky notes and something that seems okay. The finish is very smoky and a bit cantankerous with its manly notes of BBQ meats.

Loads of chocolate aroma, flavour follows through with chocolate, treacle, slight chilli bite.... thick and heavy. Good.

Black pour with a thin off white head .... Aroma of smoked malts right away, light roasted malts and caramel malts .... Taste is of smoke malts, roasted malts, bitter hop bite, caramel malts and bitter cocoa with some chili pepper bite .... Has a pretty intense flavor profile .... Smooth and malty with a slick and oily mouthfeel .... Flavors take a back seat to the smoked malt but it def has a dry bitter hop bite .... Solid and tasty

Bottle at home. Aroma is sweet cocoa, dark chocolate, dark roasted malt, coffee, hint of dark fruits and liqourice, a slight touch of chili pepper towards the end. Flavour is medium sweet with a nice roasty bittersweet finish. Body is full and somewhat creamy. Not extreme in any way, but very rich and well-balanced. Delicious chocolate-heavy Stout.

Aroma a bit boring. Thin quickly disappearing head. But the taste and palate is amazing. Wow.

Bottle 33cl, a dark beer with medium copper head, good retention. Nose is intense on dark malt, licorice, dark coffee, vinous notes. Aroma is on an intense and sweet chocolate and coffee dominant, plum and berries touch, nice creamy body, toasted caramel, peppery side comes at the end with red fruits touch. Body is rich and complex, leather and toffee, light peated notes, soy sauce, still creamy, very long roasted aftertaste, very sweet, candied fruits and plum finish, did not get the salty notes.

2016.03.15-De Molen Spanning & Sensatie-11.2 oz bottle in pint glass-bottle marked 09/01/15, presumably bottling date, so it’s about at the 6 month mark since bottling. Aroma-8/10-very nice, pretty similar to other De Molen offerings. A bit roast, a bit chocolate? Appearance-4/5-dark, as you’d expect. To type. Basically took a point off for slow forming, thin, and relatively quickly disappearing head. Frothy lacing from remains. Taste-8/10-very nice. Again some roast, well boundaried and mitigated by something, some chocolate? A flash of mild tart or burnt, then maybe even a trace of vanilla perhaps. Rich but not ridiculously so like a Bourbon County Stout. Palate-4/5-Smooth, alcohol well hidden, not too thick not too thin, mostly flat maybe a trace of fizz, long finish. Overall-15/20-Another solid offering. Hard to tell in hindsight how some of these De Molen overlaps really differ without trying them all at the same time but so far they rarely disappoint and this is no exception.
