4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Fantastic stout, dark almist black color, foam is a little thin and the bobbles hard. But the biting aftertaste of chocolate and chili makes it a big winner. Good thinking.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330 ml bottle shared with the metallurgist. Pitch black with a thin mocca head. Aroma has massive cocoa, roasted malt, alcohol, liquorice and faint chilies. Taste has cocoa (more with increasing temp), chocolate, taste of chilies but with no heat, salty liquorice with high bitterness. Complex and interesting!

Very bitter from the roasted grains do not drink on a fast way.
Very nice to drink amongst beer-lovers who want something special.
The difference with an IPA (much hops) is is enormous.
The beer foam is good; the color is almost black but the taste is special.
I am a hobby brewer myself but I dare not to copy this beer: it is too com plicated. Rasputin and some others from the same brewer are also very remarkable .

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at home, 29th November 13. Interesting aroma, mix of the expected with more. Taste is great, smooth, good flavours, chocolate, some leather, faint chilli, but it is present, well balanced and not dominant, i think I get the salt also. Great little sipper.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thinish black porter looking pour with some light tan looking head. Aroma of roasted malts, anise, a touch metallic. Hits the palate with a slighty sour pinch, strange mouthfeel, a bit of spice on the finish. It’s an interesting brew no doubt, but the flavour combination doesn’t really work for me, it does say imperial stout-ish on the bottle which is a good way saying this beer is somewhere between that and the experimental.

Absolutely a interesting beer. Large head. Not the nicest apperance. This beer is most of all interesting bec ause of the salt and chili. Well balanced. Not to much of either flavours. Fun to have tried this one

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Erzbierschof, Bern, bottled June 4th 2012, 1 year old
Black color, medium sized head. The aroma is mild, it’s a bit dusty, vinous and roasty. Lean mouthfeel; there is a mix of roast malt with vinous character, light chocolate, very light chili peppers; correct bitterness; the lingering sourness is not exactly appreciated here.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle pours black in color with a thin light brown head that leaves a few spots of lacing behind. Aroma is cocoa and roasted grains with a presence of alcohol. Taste is a chocolate malty sweetness with some heat from the chilies and a light roast grain bitterness. Medium to heavy body with mild carbonation. A nicely done Imperial stout and would definitely try again.

11.2. Pours jet black with a scant thin light tan head. Big chocolatey sea salty nose. Sticky thick body with soft carb. Chocolatey mid palate with very soft peppers and perfectky balanced salt notes. Long earthy chocolatey finish.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pitch black, 2 finger espresso. Nose is bitter and spicy. Taste is surprising I expected overbearing smoke and chili hotness. It's there but not overpowering. Lots of chocolate. No booziness. Chalky with the mouthfeel. I like it.
