On tap @ European Beerfestival 2008. Pours black with no head.. Quite sweet with aromas sugar and some smoked malts. Some residual sugars. German hops dry finish. Could do with a bit more smoked malts.

Draught@EBF2008. Black colour, not much head. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel, sweet wood, mild notes of syrup and licorice. Flavour is roasted malts, mild alcohol along with some caramel, wood and also licorice. A pleasantly balanced imperial stout.

Draught. Low but lasting off-white fluffy head. Pitch black body. Lovely smooth cocoa coffe liquorice arma and flavor with little hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long aftertaste.

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2009 Tap @ De Molen Brewery. Black colored brew. Coffee, dark chocolate aroma with some liquorice. Coffee, dark chocolate and light liquorice in the flavor. Could not taste a lot of the whisky malts. Balanced imperial stout, good decent bitterness, but not too overwhelming. Could be a bit more creamy, but it’s pretty thick already. Looking forward of trying a botlle when aged some more! Another winner from De Molen. Aged 1 year. Very smooth. More whisky tones, very nice.

Pours absolutely black with a small, film head with little bubbles round the edges of my glass. Super chocolate aroma, light smoke, toffee and coffee. Some soft roastiness as well. Low carbonation, managing that great oily/creamy combination. Super flavour, good dark chocolate, some smoke, caramel, a peity edge. But it is the chocolate that takes the crown and runs around with it, joyously cheering (more or less like I did).

Draught Black beer, small rim. Pure coffee nose, Nespresso... Black coffee & chocolate in the taste, with just a hint of some spices, but little else. Finish is sweet however. Very slick, nearly oil. Crude one, that is. Not a small stout, just a tad sweet, maybe quite some unrefermented sugars?

Fad. EBF 2008 En lille smule karbonering giver et lille brundt skum som igen får den til at ligne en cola der har stået et stykke tid. Flot balance i øllen der skjuler alkoolen særdeles godt, men mundfylden er en smule tynd og det trækker ned.

Draught at EBF 2008. Black with no foam. Roasted malt aroma, with aniseed, cough medicine spices, coffee, chocolate, and alcohol. Thick body, flat mouthfeel. Good balance.

Dark reddish brown to black color, small dark brown head. Coffee, alcohol, licorice scent. Sweet, smoke, licorice, alcohol taste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Smoke aftertaste.

Black with tiny beige short lasting head. Sweet aroma with loads of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and a bit of smoke. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, smoke and alcohol notes. Low carbonated.
