Dark reddish brown color with a tiny creamy light tan head. Roasted malt, mild sweetness and whiskey in the aroma. Whiskey, strong alcohol, roasted malt and peat in the flavor. Warms.

Pours black color with a small head. Nice smooth chocolaty aroma with whisky notes, faint vanilla tones, wood and dark malts. Some tar on the flavor, licorice, mild alcohol burn, some saltiness, roasted malts. Nice and pleasant, this seems to have aged well.

@ISKTR 2016. Pullo nro. 049, pullotettu 14.8.2008. Mustanpunertava väri, hapoton, vaahdoton. Miellyttävä tumma tuima tuoksu. Suutuntuma suussasulava, lakritsaa, anista, kuohuva, alkoholin polte lisääntyy suussa viipyessään, lähes nestemäistä nektariinia. Äärimmäisen nautittavaa.

75 cl bottle @ ISKTR ’16. Brewed 08.07.2008, bottled 14.08.2008.
Bottle 49/260
Aroma has musty licorice tones, some chocolate and weird hayish notes. Flavour has strong peated notes, licorice and saltiness. Very good, like a Hemel & Aarde lite. Almost no signs of the old age here; I could not tell that this is 8 years old.

Opaque black beer. Low carbonation. Initially the roasty malt comes across as very strong but then after that shock has subsideed there is a strange sour fruit and herbal malt taste. Finishes on a sweet aniseed alcohol note. Palate is soft and a little oily. Unique beer that rewards persistence.
