These de Molen guys know their stuff. Great amber colour, lovely fruity aromas with some spice thrown in. Rich palate, bitter sweet. Dangerously drinkable at 10.2 %. Gotta visit this brewery !

0,33l fles bij de fust vandaan. Amberkleurig met een lichte fijne schuimkraag. Geur is gras en gist met een zoetje. Smaak is brood met citrus, mooi bitter in de afdronk. Lekker

Bottle from Stockmann in Tallinn (Ä 3,39). Bottled Feb 6 2013. Pours dark orange with an off-white head with good retention and lacing. Nose is strong maltiness reminiscent of barley wines, slighlty caramelised sugar, some alcohol, peachy ripe fruitiness and herbal-earthy-spicy bitterness. Taste is very sweet first: caramelly malts and earthy ripe fruits, then resinous and grapefruity bitter, with an earthy-herbal bitter finish. Body medium to heavy, with modest carbonation, sticky palate and slightly grainy mouthfeel. Very little bitterness for a DIPA - but then again the label says itís only "Double IPA-ish"... which sounds like an exaggeration in this case. I wonder what it tastes like when fresh... I still like it though, even if what I get is probably not what itís supposed to be... But then again, reading about Premiant hops indicate this is pretty much what itís about. Go figure.

Bottled #2013. Pours deep golden with an average, lacing off-white head. Aroma of rye notes, caramel, some citrus too, earthy, herbal and spicy hops. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carb. A very nice and pleasant DIPA.

Rusty brown color pours with off-white quickly dissipating head. Very little lacing. Agree with another reviewer that it seems like more of a fruity barley wine than an "IPA-ish". A bit too sweet for me, very light on the hops. More palatable than barley wine beers like Anchorís Iíve tried though.

550ml bottle? - An interesting take on the style, as it seemed more like a fruity barleywine that a classic IIPA. Iíve really enjoyed most (if not all) of De Molenís beers and this too was nice, albeit WAY overpriced. A fruity aroma of pit fruit, and candied orange peel. Flavor was definitely sweet, long notes of oranges, more pit fruit, and caramel syrup. Really, really, really sweet for an IIPA. Whereís the hops? Gone I guess, but whatís left behind was still...pretty nice.

330 ml bottle. Bottled on Feb 6th 2013. From bierzwerg.de.
Hazy reddish brown colour with a small tan head. Sweetness, malt and mild fruitiness in the aroma. The flavour is hoppy bitterness, sweetness, alcohol and more bitterness. Not my favourite DIPA.

Bottle from De Bierkoning, bottled Feb 2013 at 10.2% Cloudy orange / brown, sparkling, foamy white head. Aroma - orange juice, sour lemon. Body is medium to light, foamy, carbonation low. Taste - sweet caramel, sour notes, minerals. The description says that this doesnít contain wheat, but it tastes as though it does. It doesnít have the punch of an IIPA. Past its best.

Bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit schŲner Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, fruchtig, Citrus, Karamell. Geschmack intensiv malzig fruchtig, hopfig bitter, leicht alkoholisch.

Very sweet and malty for a double IPA. The caramel and dried fruit tones of the malt hide the bitterness of the hops. Iím a fan of bitter I have to admit. But this is still full of flavour, big and impressively smooth for its punch.

Amber orange looks with massive bubbly head, which stays nicely. Leaves lots of lacing to the glass. Aroma is on the sweet side with fruits, caramel and malts. Hops are quite hidden underneath. Then taste offers malty full flavors, mainly caramel, spices raisins or plums and in the end there is a very smallish bitterness for an DIPA. Soft and full texture and medium-to-low carbonation. Malty and sweet DIPA without raging hops.
