750 ml bottle shared by jdobfl at the CPLYFO 09. Pours a nice hazy orange with a massive white head and big foam. Aroma is bready, yeasty, with some lemon zest and spicy phenols- hoppy- light citrus and lots of grass. Flavor is also lemony zesty, grass, earth and leather- along with some soapiness and light bready malts. Finish is pretty smooth- and moderate hoppy bitterness. Ok overall, but not great for a DIPA for sure.

Muted hop notes and strong slightly farmy yeast character. Very much like a belgian IPA.

750 at the Bayou thanks to Bonnie. Pours a cloudy orange color with a medium white head. The aroma is big oxidized hops, sweet fruit, dusty. A very sweet fruity flavor with more dust and light oxidation, caramel, oranges. I’m guessing that this is pretty old but to be clear we just got it into Utah! Like an aged BW.

Bottle. 25.4 oz. Pours a massive tangerine with a fucking enormous, fluffed up, laced out white meringue head. Aroma of oyster crackers, musty yeast, wet dog, salty gouda cheese, and some slight honey and apricot notes. Medium to light bodied. Very soft and supple with some funkiness that caresses the back of the tongue. Flavor is filled with pilsner malts, citrus fruits, freshly ground wheat, and savory, resiny pine hop. Finishes with a bitter, dry, earthy flourish. Very good and different double ipa.

Thanks to Beer Savant for sharing a bottle. Pours orange with a thin fluffy white head that diminishes slowly. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of hops, fruity esters and bready malt. The finish is initially hoppy and leaves a grainy malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Bottle shared by a friend. Semi-hazy amber pour with a thin white head. Nose consists of grainy malt, fusel alcohol, smoke and sweetness. Creamy and malty flavor with a grassy hop finish.

Bottle @ home. Not sure what exactly to make of this. Likely a two year old IIPA with an inch of dust on it. Ahhh fuck it, here goes... Cloudy orange appearance with a good carbonated, off white head. Aroma of caramel and citrus fruits- hops are long gone- smells more like a barleywine at this point. Quite sweet, orange citrusy, rich toasty caramel malty flavor. Wish I could have tried this fresh as the hops no longer exist.

Served on tap at O’reilly’s during IPA day. A - Pours deep amber orange with a small one finger tall white head leaving very little lace down the glass. S - Smells of caramel sweet malt, light citric hops, fresh cut grass, and pine resin. Not the best nose but still decently pungent. T - Starts off with quite a bit of caramel sweetness slowly giving way to a mix of bitter citric hops, fresh cut grass and pine needles, and some dull wet earthiness. The finish is pretty dry with a little bit of hop bitterness, lingering on the pallet for some time. M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Juicy, dry, feel that lingers on the pallet for some time. O - Pretty good. I saw this one on the list and I knew I had to get one. My love for De Molen is strong but this was just ok. Oh well, on to the next one.

Floral hop aroma with hints of sherry. Mildly cloudy amber color with large white head. Malt sweetness with some hops to balance. Does not present the hop flavor I would expect. Some oxidized flavors. I think this beer is long in the tooth. Most De Molen beers are sublime. This one is just passable. Drinking the 750ml alone does reinforce the fact this in 9.2% ABV. Damn, I love De Molen beers and this beer, while drinkable, is not as incredible as I have become used to expecting from De Molen.

0.33l bottle @ Monk’s Café Sveavägen, Stockholm. Pours a near murky brown body with a thin fading light beige sidesticking head. The aroma is not to extreme, but it has a nice light fruity touch, malts, some yeast and it’s also light sweet with some leafy and autumn-tones. Nice stuff! It has a average carbonation level and a slick to light sticky mouthfeel. Flavors are much the same as the aroma, just a lot more dry. It has a light fruity tone, some light oxidized hints, dry caramel and perhaps even some nuts in the finish and aftertaste. Quite delicious stuff actually.

Pours amber medium Aromas of swwet fruits, candy, malt, bananas. A bit like smelling perfume Taste is round and sweet in the beginning. A lot of sweet hops. Rather lame finish.
