3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle 0,33ltr: Hazy orange brew with an excellent farm-smell start, fruity/citrus taste. Great Dutch version of the Saison-style.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Brewed on 3/27/09 and bottled on 6/9/09 exclusively for De Bierkoning in Amsterdam. One of 547 in the batch. Pours a dark and hazy burnt-orange amber hue with lively, effervescent bubble streaks. A tall column of rocky, ivory colored foam leaves heavy clumps of lacing on the glass. The aroma shows sweet, honey-glazed cereal grain with a mildly bretty, semi-dry overtone. Leafy hops lend perfumy, peppery notes, while coriander, clove, and orange peel lend plenty of zesty spice. The flavor profile shows mostly the same, sweet grain countered by both grassy and citrusy hops, as well as sharp winter spices. The yeast profile is bready, semi-dry, and mildly Brett-laden. Big bodied and
balanced, the palate is perhaps a touch overly sweet, but not annoyingly so. Good brew, but I think it needs a couple of years in the bottle to dry out to itís full potential.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is quite intense, classic Saison farm yard, wet hay and lots of spicy yeast. It could definitely look more tempting, it pours cloudy with a bubbely head that dissapears to nothing leaving a whit smudge on top, looks a bit pond watery... The flavour is nice, though it could be made alot better with better conditioning. It is very sweet, almost a little to sweet for this palate. Lots of spice, the alcohol is certainly present, reminds me of a Saison crossed with a barley wine - well thatís what it is I suppose. Not masses of complexity, a liitle tart, some good fruit character, spices, apricot dried raisins. I donít know if itís hard to pick apart or if thereís just not that much to pick apart? Unfortunatley Iím finding it hard to get past the sweetness and overly present alcohol, underneath lurks a very nice Saison, but at this abv. I feel it is simply doesn;t get a chance to shine through. Palate could do with being a bit thicker, somehow it comes over as being a bit watery... Nice enough just not my cup of tea.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled. Aroma has yeast, some spicee and mandarin fruitiness. Hazy, orange coloured with not much head. The taste is a bit sweet and siruppy. It has manadarins and yeast in it. Some bitterness in the finish.
Probably rated a bit too early. I have a bottle left, so will rearate.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer was one to remember, in my eyes! The palate was just so pretty balanced. It went from place to place, starting with the muskiness I just demand from something that calls itself a "saison". Then it went over a sour hill to a sweet plain field where your tastebuds could roam free for a while. Very, very nice!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Orange blonde, hazy. Yeast, madarin curacao liquor and stones in the aroma. Orange and loads of alcohol in the flavor. Flowers and cardemom. Too alcoholic and a bit out of balance. Therefore not my favorite from this rbewery.
