Black colored beer with hardly any head. Aroma of burned malts and alcohol. Taste: burned malts, coffee, chocolate but nicely balance with alchol warmth, some caramel and liquor notes. Some alcohol warming in the aftertaste.

Bottle, bottled on November 11, 2011. Pours a pitch black with almost no head on top. Aroma has cognac, oak, molasses and licorice all in the mix. Flavour is quite sweet with an aftertaste that seems similar to cognac, but more spicey. Definitely get the getting the molasses sweetness and high alcohol content. Very sticky, oily mouthfeel. No alchohol burn, just a very good sipper.

33cl. Bottle. Poors black with tiny tan head. Aroma cognac, alcohol, dark fruits, cherry, caramel. Taste sugar, nice bitter, sparkling warming alcohol in the finish. Mouth-feel oily, dry. Awesome beer. The cognac is there, but not overwhelming, Well balanced sweets and bitters.

tasting with 77ships ( blind for him) had heard great things abouyt this one ! plus, BA on cognac? thats the only BA i do like , realy .. pours black, small white foam. smell is .. hoppy? taste and mouthfeel is very light ... just too wattery for me to be a stout. not very balanced, not very goode. drinkable, yeah, but nowhere near hel en verdoemenis... i shall no more have high expectations of ALL molen beers, just yesterday these things got me to drink a smoked.. damn... thats what happens when you buy like 40 beers of them withoud looking to the style, right ?

Very dark brown with a small brown head. Fruity and malty tones. Malt, fruit, chocolate and vinous. Full body with a long bitter sweet finish.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2013 Brown/black color, nice brown head. Very full bodied taste. Very malty tasting, the bitterness lies in the background. Not much carbonation, but in my opinion it’s just enough.

Dark brown amost black with a generous beige head. Strong fruity/chocolate nose with loads of raisiny character. Réminiscence of an ABT! Full bodied, warming palate, chocolate, plummy and a touch of roasted nuts. Medium carbonation. Long warming finale. Very nice.

(33cl bottle) Courtesy of Blomster in a trade. Pours a large lasting creamy beige head atop a black body. Nose of booze, cocoa nibs and black licorice. Very smooth, nice palate - you'd never know the ABV was +12%. I like the lasting toasted malt front and bitter hops. Properly made Imperial Porters must have some the greatest variations of flavour on the high alcohol end of styles. I really am enjoying this for Christmas. Thanks Christer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPod

Tasted from the bottle, on 15/12/2012. Pours totally black with a lovely creamy head. Aroma is lovely, quite complex, woody&cognac notes dominate, followed by silky, slightly toasty tones from malts. Taste is awesome, rich and intense, with uncountable number of different tastes. Complexity of aroma&taste, again, is incredible. Recommended++ ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
