3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled 33cl. Pitch black with practically no head at all. A huge amount of banana showing up in the nose which is accompanied by hints of oak, salt, milk chocolate and alcohol. Full bodied. Relatively strong bitterness. Slightly minty finish which is reminiscent of banana and milk chocolate. Not entirely cohesive to my tastes.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Süßer, malziger, holziger Likörgeruch. Antrunk süß und malztont. Mittelteil tief dunkelmalzig und intensiv schokoladig, süßlich. Weiterhin süßlich, malzig und alkoholischbrennend ablaufend. Sehr schweres Bier, alkoholbehaftet; insgesamt keinen phänomenalen aber immerhin recht guten Eindruck hinterläßt.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Strangely fruity aroma, not so good... Berries? Black colour. Almost no head. Roasted flavour, also a little wet rag in there. This tastes as if something went wrong.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle. Hazy dark brown with small lacing beige head. Pungent alcoholic cognac aroma to some degree hold at bay by a citrus hop note. Taste is unbalanced, presenting a development describable as up- and downward movement. Starting harmonically, the taste is divided in a lower side with roasted, even burnt malt (no smoke), intermediate milk chocolate, and some fresh citrus on the upper side, leaving a bitter, dry, oaky, soapy impression, combined with more and more warming alcohol. Not strictly repeatable with every sip, the "taste movement" is up-down-up. Otherwise rewarding complexity/development in taste always with a better score, I’m at odds with myself concerning this one.
By the way: Another BA beer just gaining aroma but not taste from the barrel/chips.
