3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled 33cl. Pitch black with practically no head at all. A huge amount of banana showing up in the nose which is accompanied by hints of oak, salt, milk chocolate and alcohol. Full bodied. Relatively strong bitterness. Slightly minty finish which is reminiscent of banana and milk chocolate. Not entirely cohesive to my tastes.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Süßer, malziger, holziger Likörgeruch. Antrunk süß und malztont. Mittelteil tief dunkelmalzig und intensiv schokoladig, süßlich. Weiterhin süßlich, malzig und alkoholischbrennend ablaufend. Sehr schweres Bier, alkoholbehaftet; insgesamt keinen phänomenalen aber immerhin recht guten Eindruck hinterläßt.

Strangely fruity aroma, not so good... Berries? Black colour. Almost no head. Roasted flavour, also a little wet rag in there. This tastes as if something went wrong.

Bottled (from bierkompass.de). More or less pitch black colour, thick fluid, no head. Aroma is ginger bread, liquorice, some sweetness, vanilla and mild malts. Flavour is spirit sweetness, liquorice, some burning alcohol on the tongue as well as some mild sweet wooden notes.

Bottled 330ml (08/11/2011)
Oraque black color, tiny brown head. Fruity, apple aroma with roasted malts in the nose. Full-bodied with soft palate. Flavor is very similar to aroma: fruity, apples in the flavor with roasted, cocoa beans flavors. Interesrting.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle. Hazy dark brown with small lacing beige head. Pungent alcoholic cognac aroma to some degree hold at bay by a citrus hop note. Taste is unbalanced, presenting a development describable as up- and downward movement. Starting harmonically, the taste is divided in a lower side with roasted, even burnt malt (no smoke), intermediate milk chocolate, and some fresh citrus on the upper side, leaving a bitter, dry, oaky, soapy impression, combined with more and more warming alcohol. Not strictly repeatable with every sip, the "taste movement" is up-down-up. Otherwise rewarding complexity/development in taste always with a better score, I’m at odds with myself concerning this one.
By the way: Another BA beer just gaining aroma but not taste from the barrel/chips.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Colour is black. No head really. Aroma of dark fruits, roasted malts, salty licorice and a bit of alcohol and wooden notes. Flavour of dried fruits, coffee, roasted malt, ashes, wood and yes, cognac is there too. Rather light to be an imperial stout. Rather low carbonation level too. Good stuff but not perfectly balanced.

33cl, at 12%Vol, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2011, from Brouwerij de Molen Bodegraven, very complex sweet Porter, roasted/alcoholic and slightly fruity/woody, heavy, yet balanced, hazy, nearly no head, very good brew, yet expensive!
