Bottle. Pours a black color with a small longlasting off-white head. Has a roasted malty fruity chocolate and weak cognac aroma. Roasted malty sweetish chocolate and dark fruit flavor with hints of cognac. Has a roasted malty chocolate, cognac and dark fruit finish.

33 cl bottle, almost a year old. Dark brown with coating tan foam. Nose is chocolate cake, raisin, light cognac and hay. Medium body with an airy tingle. Taste is milk chocolate, blueberry and caramel with cognac adding a bitter bite. Very smooth for a big brew.

Handbottle.

Dark black brown colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark malt, caramel, wood, alcohol - cognac. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, alcohol warm, alcohol - cognac, dark chocolate and dark roasted malt. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic.

Black colored beer with hardly any head. Aroma of burned malts and alcohol. Taste: burned malts, coffee, chocolate but nicely balance with alchol warmth, some caramel and liquor notes. Some alcohol warming in the aftertaste.

33cl from DeMolen biership, shared with Tomaz. Brune foncée, col fin beige/moka. Arôme de malt, choco, caramel, le tout sur un bouquet Cognac boisé, note de grains voire de noisette? Houblon est présent également et confère une légère pointe d’amertume. En bouche, malt grillé, léger cara/choco, le cognac est en retrait et se ressent par le profile de copeaux de chêne. Pointe toffee noisette, le tout étant collant aux lèvres. Le houblon est fleuri voire citronné rajoutant une fine amertume en fin de bouche. L’usage de copeaux en lieu de barrique s’en ressent pour une présence plus faible.

33cl, at 12%Vol, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2011, from Brouwerij de Molen Bodegraven, very complex sweet Porter, roasted/alcoholic and slightly fruity/woody, heavy, yet balanced, hazy, nearly no head, very good brew, yet expensive!

On tap @ De Molen - sniffer glass - Pours a deep red-brown beer with a very small white head. A nose of coffee and caramel, dark fruit and tart apple. In the taste a very strong alcohol feeling, anice and chocolate

Bottle, bottled on November 11, 2011. Pours a pitch black with almost no head on top. Aroma has cognac, oak, molasses and licorice all in the mix. Flavour is quite sweet with an aftertaste that seems similar to cognac, but more spicey. Definitely get the getting the molasses sweetness and high alcohol content. Very sticky, oily mouthfeel. No alchohol burn, just a very good sipper.

Bottle, pours black with small head. Aroma is roasted malts, oak, some cognac, chocolate. Taste is dark chocolate, some coffee, oak, some cognac, some dark fruits and some alcohol. Medium body, soft carbon. Nice!

Bottle at home (thanks to Dennis for an IP trade) - 30/10/12. Pitch black with no head, still as the night! Big waft of cognac hanging over the glass, dark malts, almond, plastic, woody tones. Tastes of dark fruits, cognac, touch of booze, wood, cognac. Great mouthfeel, full bodied with very fine carbonation and a smooth velvety finish. A great strong Porter, the alcohol is very well disguised and with a luxurious finish.
