Stronger version of a Baltic Porter. Comparable with an Imperial Stout but without the heavily roasted malt character. This created a soft beer with strong hops in the finish.

Motor oil pour, Nice bit of head, sweet coffee and chocolate smell ... really packs an excellent aroma. Wow rich, complex, with a sweet boozy after taste. Great stuff.

Pours brown to black with a thick tan head that drops quickly. Aroma of port, chocolate, prunes, muscovado and very light coffee. Taste is caramel and chocolate sweet at first before a long, pleasant coffee bitter finish. Way too carbonated, especially at first with very lively, fizzy bubbles. Body is medium and kind of creamy, beyond the bubbles... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: Black color with a small tan head that leaves some lacing.
Aroma: Chocolate, vinous and a bit fruity.
Palate: Medium plus body. Slightly sweet and a moderate bitterness. Soft carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Balanced sweetness. Chocolate, dark malt, vinous and berry fruity. Extremely well hidden alcohol.
Overall impression: What a lovely beer. Even my mother really liked this one. A perfect evening sipper. The only problem is that you want more!
Personal stats: Bottle from Vinmonopolet Oslo - Vika in Oslo, Norway.

At BBF. pours black with little brown head. Coffee, dark chocolate and licorice aroma. Similar taste, you can feel the alcohol but it’s not overwhelming. Excellent beer.

Bouteille 330ml.

Draft. Pours dark brown with a lasting and light lacing creamy tan small head. Aroma is caramel, raspberries, dense malt, chocolate, roasted malt, complex brown sugars, red apple, dark berries, dried fruit. Taste is heavy sweet and medium bitter. Body is full, texture is medium sticky and smooth, carbonation is soft+. Finishes sweet with berries and drying alcohol. Hides abv. really well. This is incredibly balanced and quite a treat.

mmmmmm.....Crap it looks like my bottle might have been leaking, there is dried sticky beer running down the side of the bottle coming from the cap. Beer still appears to be carbonated. Dark brown body with limited cap floating on top. Roasted aroma, some sweetness, tobacco, earth, and only a small touch of coffee. Taste is light and crisp and has a dull lingering bitter in the finish. Flavorless sweetness, earth, kind of coffee but not. I change my mind the earth is just dirt. This isn’t that bad, not epic though. Can’t decide if this beer has been tainted yet. Just hit a big chunk of chocolate. Powdery this taste is!! No trace of the alcohol, well my head feels funny. ACK!! Getting to sweet. Almost sour never really makes it. I don’t know what to make of this beer I could give it a 2.8 - 3.8 depending on the sip.
